PQI shows off JoyTone U820 digital audio player
Looks like ginormous SSDs aren't the only products PQI's been cranking out of late, as the firm's latest DAP was showing off its sparkle at Computex. The JoyTone U820 features a glossy black exterior, 1.5-inch 128 x 128 resolution LCD, ID3 tag support, MP3, WMA, and SMV playback, a photo viewer, digital voice recorder, and USB connectivity. Unsurprisingly, there was no word as to when the U820 would find its way from the show floor onto store shelves, but as you already know, more pictorial delight awaits you after the break.

Hey the Cingular logo called, he wants his head back!
it looks like the design of the Sansa e200s crossed with the smooth edges of a Zen V
then the Cingular logo mashed on without a head for the buttons
I cannot even begin to describe in words how much I'm NOT excited about another me-too mp3 player hitting the market.
Especially one that looks just like another mp3 player, rotate the button layout by 45 degrees, then uglify it 45%.
I also think Apple want their iTunes logo back. Changing the music note from blue to purple really isn't innovative. I don't understand why DAP manufacturers release products that don't offer anything above the already hefty competition from Apple, Microsoft, and Creative. This company is just spending money on a product that is going to fail.
They should just give the money to me as I could spend it in a wiser manner.
Do you honestly think that the double-eighth note is considered a logo? It's really more like a universal sign of music... Besides, the itunes logo is a double-eighth note with a CD behind it. And I agree with other people, this mp3 player brings nothing new to the table as far as I'm concerned. What I'm really anxious to see in the next week or two is the new Archos 05 line.
Woohoo! The first skulls and bones MP3 control panel. The must have for fashionable punk girls!
I want just one "story continued after the break" entry where the pictures are not watermarked to hell, especailly if they say "sponsored by..." or something similar.
I think I get your game here.
You're a Microsoft hater (or something like that) and you must have nothing better to do in your life than to go around website posts and post comments that make some person who uses Microsoft products look like an idiot. Just so that other users can ridicule this person for using MS products and whatnot.
Sorry, but the jig's up. Get a life, and stop being an idiot yourself.
They've already sold this at Clas Ohlson stores in atleast Finland and Sweden since about christmas. Link to webshop: http://www.clasohlson.se/Product/Product.aspx?id=9078789
i got to mess around with that exact same mp3 player. it isn't as exciting as it seems. trust me. The volume is capped at what would be "normal" for some individuals, the buttons are flimsy, and the GUI is confusing and difficult to get around with. 1GB and 2GB versions only.
You can pick one up at Fry's Electronics, but if your looking for a serious mp3 player.. this, isn't what you want.
o wait, my bad, there is a CD behind the music note, I take my comment back, it is pretty unoriginal
I think this posting is more interesting for the ad on the images.. this is the first time I've seen this. A new trend? Could get ugly.
I'm not usually a "hater" but damn, does this thing have any redeeming qualities? It doesn't do anything special at all and on top of that, it looks bad in every way. The design, the screen, the interface... I know there isn't a whole lot more you can bring to the table with a tiny MP3 player, but at least make it LOOK nice. How hard is it to have a smooth design and nice interface?
Well, now we know what happened to the Cingular Guy after AT&T took over. Poor thing, having to resort to whoring itself out as interface controls. A sad day, for sure.
Hey, my friend has this mp3 player since christmas (and the screen isnt working anymore). The only difference was the brand : Diamond. He bought this crappy shit at walmart (in canada) and the image quality for image (and videos too)is bad (read terrible)and the interface is bizzare and complicated. It looks and it is a "no name" product like those crappy ipod clones.
