Fake Steve Jobs' real ThinkPad Reserve

It's only 2 days from launch and already the mighty El Jobso himself is toting a ThinkPad Reserve Edition laptop. That'd be Fake Steve Jobs supposedly carrying the "Chinese uber laptop" delivered (and engraved) personally by Fake Larry Ellison. Too funny. Oddly enough, the TRE (minus the engraving) looks to be the real deal in that photo which makes the true identity of FSJ all the more intriguing.

wwdc was NOT a flop, its just a lot of people dont understand the implications of it because its a DEVELOPERS conference duh, a WHOLE NEW finder, working primarily with spotlight and smart folders, and complete 64bit, core animation, you can only dream about this, yeah sure from a consumers view it 'looks' very similar, but the end user experience will be vastly superior.

No - it was a flop, because there where no info on ZFS and that the iPhone indeed well be closed down like hell.. From devs perspective, it's a flop.. 64-bit and the finder are not *new* features, it was catch-up as an evolution.

I really looked forward to working with zfs, but maybe sun CEO was pissed Jobs of this time - or they are saving it for October.. Anyway the stock market reacted negative, dropping around $10-15 as a follow..

And what about the iMacs? They haven't been updated for nearly a year? A call it a flop.. Leopard is looking very very nice, but for a devs perspective, they should focus on lower levels technologies rather than PhotoBooth features (That's gotta be consumer-stuff).

All other MacWorlds and WWDC's have had much more to announce to the 22 million technocrates that enjoys a pretty BSD platform ;-).

i still disagree, the dev are more interested in an established gigantic and growing mac userbase than an unreleased phone! and zfs is not yet bootable, even for sun, it is cool but still not mature enough for widespread use, and it wasnt mentioned doesnt mean they are not working on support. Steve is obviously holding back some stuff for october too, or hed have nothing to talk about, i am very happy with the announcements

I find it pretty silly to read any meaning in short term changes in the stock price. If you take the stock price year per year, then, yeah, it will on average reflect how well a company is doing.

Look at it minute by minute, or hour by hour or even day by day, and it makes much less sense. It's certainly not indicative of the future performance of a company or the relevance of its technology.

I was disappointed by the WWDC because I want Apple to continue to release new hardware at breakneck speed- I hope they pick it up when the iPhone is out. Right now it looks to me as if Apple has a severe scaling problem - they can only do so many cool things at one time, but we want them to develop sub-notebooks, kick ass with Leopard, release a few more versions of the iPhone for international markets, and many more models of the MacBook and MacBook Pro - they should all come in 12, 13, 15 and 17" versions. And fer chrissake redesign the freakin' MBP.

I have been holding out for a MBP for half a year now so I will have to get it. But how come the top consumer notebook looks way cooler than the flagship product? I want a matte black MBP. Silver is so 2001.

@tnn: Are you really surprised ZFS isn't in the client OS? Notice they mentioned nothing about 10.5 server yesterday - which is where I expect ZFS to show up.

Next: iMacs would not be shown at a developers' conference. How many times does this need to be repeated? The iMac is not seen as a dev machine. If anything, you should have expected something having to do with the Mac Pro, but since that was recently updated I can't see why anyone would expect that.

Photo Booth is indeed consumer-level stuff, but it's eye candy and that's what Mac devs want to see during the keynote. There are something like 160 working sessions... Jobs is not going to get into the Terminal and start breaking things down on the command line during the keynote.

So, if you really want to go playing with the dev stuff, actually go to WWDC. Otherwise, quit whining about it not fulfilling your consumer fantasies.

What it most likely means is that the next release of Mac OS will support Lenova or other 3rd party PCs. Apple has been moving in this direction to compete in the Windows market and lure people away...

Could the whole Fake/Real shit be any more confusing? Instead of trying to be uber clever in your articles,Engadget, why not tell us what the hell you're talking about? When your readers are asking for a factual explanation for what you write, you know you're in trouble. Regardless if it's about apple or not.
