Toshiba kicks out its own 4GB microSDHC card
Oh, Toshiba. Usually we wouldn't react too kindly to jumping in the game nearly half a year late, but considering just how rare these 4GB microSDHC cards still seem to be, we'll give you a pass on this one. Sure enough, Tosh is finally ready to unleash its wee 4GB microSDHC card on the world, and besides guaranteeing sustained write rates of up to 4Mbps, it also promises write speeds of nearly 6Mbps. No word on pricing details as of now, but considering that these should be hitting (a few) shelves come next month, you won't be waiting too much longer in tense anticipation.[Via Tech-On]

wow these lil MicroSD cards are so small!!! It's absolutly amazing! Hopefully we'll see them in all portable devices like Cell Phones, MP3 Players, PDA's, PSP's, etc
4gb now, 8 gb by the end of the year? 50gb within 2 years maybe? crazy :P

Even if they aren't in all devices, these are a great storage medium to buy along with adaptors. All the different types are for the most part very similar, so you can stick with MicroSD then convert upwards to SD or Memory Stick instead of having a million different cards bouncing around.
I doubt it will ever get smaller than MicroSD, so it's a good one to stick to as long as nothing radically different catches on.
