Fujitsu shows off T2010 and N6460 notebooks
At a shopping mall called Vivocity in Singapore, Fujitsu has shown off two new 12.1- and 17-inch notebook models. The 12.1-inch T2010 is actually a tablet, which weighs 3.3 pounds, is based on Santa Rosa, and has a fingerprint reader and Bluetooth. The 17-inch N6460 is very much not a tablet, instead targeting desktop replacement dudes with a full size QWERTY keyboard -- numpad and all -- and a 500GB drive and ATI graphics card. Both are expected to ship in August, but for how much we don't know.

No trackpad? HAVE THEY EVER ACTUALLY USED THE STUPID CRAPPY ERASER THINGS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE KEYBOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO NO ONE WANTS TO HAVE TO USE THE PEN ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got a tablet and I use the pen all the time. I don't have a nub pointer and I almost never use the trackpad.
I do use a gamepad for emulators and a mouse for other games, but usually I play those on my desktop.

All I ever use is the trackpoint on my laptop, never the touchpad.

have you ever used the eraser? I very much doubt that. It's one of the best things that IBM ever came up with and it is just as useful as the touchpad. Plus it has none of the drawbacks of a touch pad like an accidental tap and such. Yes is takes about 5 min initially to get used to it but after than you would really wonder how you ever lived without this thing. Plus this is a 12" notebook and the less fat the better. People that by laptops that small really don't want double features. So maybe this is not a laptop for you but this is indeed a very well placed solution.

So now they're copying Lenovo's style?
booyaka @ Jul 1st 2007 4:32PM

ATI graphics chip? Good thing we don't need to know which one. They all suck.

Does anyone of you actually like the nipple instead of the track pad? I really dislike those. Well, with this screen, I'd be fumbling around on it all the time.
ukbigbird @ Jul 1st 2007 6:29PM
Well, one mention of the word nipple has me fumbling around too.
nozzi_na_na @ Jul 3rd 2007 8:23AM
Nipple??? I thought It was a clit.
Jisoon @ Jul 1st 2007 6:40PM
Some of these laptops are starting to look like Thinkpads
trev @ Jul 1st 2007 6:44PM
I used a think pad once and actually didnt mind using the pointer, it puts less strain on your fingers compared to a trackpad. Then again your probably going to be using a mouse with your laptop anyway.
lebbers - if thats the case then using a laptop is the least of your worries! ;)

sweet...
taylor @ Jul 1st 2007 11:44PM
im sorry if i offended you trackpointophiles, i dont mind the trackpoint on the ibm thinkpad t42 im writing this on right now, it turns into a magnifyin glass when i press the middle button, but I would bludgeon myself over the head with said laptop if the trackpoint was the only mouse, being a tablet pc is no excuse, i dont like using the pen while im typing on my gateway tablet i use the trackpad.
AtariFX @ Jul 2nd 2007 1:24AM
The T4020 has two differnt touch sensitive displays. One that is active digi and the other that you can just use your finger (Like the B6210)

Hmmm....this looks like the T8140 that they announced last week. Hard to say.
ming @ Jul 2nd 2007 11:40AM
i have been trying to dig for the specs on T2010, but cannot find any. It is so strange that a product so near to launch but still no real specifications.
