The myriad of Belkin wares we spoke of a short time ago has hit the market just in time to grab your attention (and dough), and users itching to wrap their precious toy up in a clear acrylic case ($29.99), armband ($29.99), or slim-fit holster ($29.99) can now pick up any of the three. Additionally, a number of 3.5-millimeter stereo cables and headphone adapters are also available, but they aren't likely to perform any differently than the bargain variety already out there. Oh, come on. Does the iPhone really need a cupholder?
Jeffrey @ Jul 3rd 2007 9:36AM
Anyone who is going to get a Belkin product -
Buy it from Belkin.com and use coupon code "12345" (no quotes). It will make that $30 case cost only $18!
brendan Sheehan jnr @ Jul 3rd 2007 10:48AM
it works! You're a genius.
Alex @ Jul 3rd 2007 9:39AM
In Soviet Russia, Belkin iPhone accessory salmagundi ships YOU.
Blank Czech @ Jul 3rd 2007 9:40AM
It really does need a cupholder, and a greasy fingerprint protector.
McDonald's + iPhone = new phone.

I'm waiting for a jog-dial remote. Changing tracks on the subway would be kinda a pain with the touchscreen.
Alan Partridge @ Jul 3rd 2007 11:15AM
You can double click the headphone/mic thing to skip a track but yeah a proper remote would be handy

Why do most of the iphone cases do nothing to protect the screen?
pito189 @ Jul 3rd 2007 10:00AM
After watching the guy take a key to the screen in that PCWorld video (?), I'm not really sure it needs any protection.
Could mess with the screens ability to sense your fingers also.
howardmoon @ Jul 3rd 2007 12:07PM
@pito189: I was think about how all the cases seem to face outward. On your hip its easy to bump into something which may damage the screen. Yeah it does look very resistant to scratches, but what about the picture of the iphone that was cracked on a coffee table?
The cases are more about showing off your tech, than protecting it. I don't have an iphone myself, but if I did that screen would be the priority.

I saw the Belkin 3.5mm adapter in the Apple store on Friday and could not believe how long it is. It's probably 2-2.5 inches long. I can't imagine anyone wanting to use it.
BrettB @ Jul 3rd 2007 10:27AM
I agree. It's really long and stiff, making it stick up from the iphone the whole 2 inches. It's not practical at all. How about something that just brings the jack up to flush with the body of the iPhone. That's all we really need here.
JBo @ Jul 3rd 2007 10:26AM
$30 for a clear plastic case? I paid $0.50 on Ebay for a clear acrylic plastic case for my Dash. These Apple fanatics are a bunch of suckers.
Ogre @ Jul 3rd 2007 10:42AM
I'm still trying to figure out why this case was named after my college yearbook....
Natedog @ Jul 3rd 2007 11:04AM
No no no, it's a can koozie! Here's how it's REALLY used:

Although I think the iPhone is great, this is kind of ridiculous...can you imagine how gargantuan this will look on an arm? Also, it's screaming for someone to gank you...over and over again. /shiver
Mike @ Jul 3rd 2007 11:31AM
Actually the stereo cables are different than your typical garden variety, as they work without the use of an adapter, Yo.
Zeek @ Jul 3rd 2007 11:46AM
Can I wear it around my head, so when I'm not on my iP. everyone will still know I have one?
pika @ Jul 3rd 2007 11:50AM
Can I put this on my wrist and make me look like Splinter cell?
Brian @ Jul 3rd 2007 11:53AM
First, these have been in stores since the iPhone launched on Friday. I bought the armband and it's really nice to work out with. It's a solid product that works quite well.
Chokko @ Jul 3rd 2007 12:25PM
And you wonder why you are still single?
WebGyver @ Jul 3rd 2007 1:17PM
Any spelunkers out there?
Is there anything that would allow me to strap the iPhone around my head and use it as a musical flashlight? Preferably something waterproof, too.
Since I'm still waiting until All-A-Dollar carries the iPhone, is there any kind of GPS device built into the iPhone? Just in case my mid-riffs get stuck somewhere in a cave.

Hottest arm mini-shield evar!
Now, for the complete saint seiya armor iPhone style...
Maxx @ Jul 3rd 2007 4:03PM
I bought that clear acrilic case and it is horrible. Don't buy that. It is going back for a refund. It pops open and the belt clip is terrible also. My iPhone is MUCH safer just holding it than in this thing. It is nice to prop it up for videos but just about anything lying around can do that. I am going to get the strechy rubber one that they show on the Apple store.

Jim @ Jul 3rd 2007 11:23PM
Ditto on the plastic case. I wanted to have it since it would prop the thing up, but it isn't connected in enough places, 'creaked' when holding it, and just felt cheap and crappy.
dan @ Jul 3rd 2007 4:17PM
Just curious... if I put an iPhone into this armband, put it on my arm, and go jogging... presumably pumping my arms up and down as I run... am I going to be constantly tripping the orientation sensor on the iPhone? I mean, is the screen orientation just going to keep rotating around, making me waste battery life for no good reason?
I don't have an iPhone so I don't know, and I can't experiment to find out. Is there something like a "Screen Orientation Lock" or a "Jogging Mode" or something?
kyle allen @ Jul 4th 2007 1:40AM
what ever happened to the wwpc (wrist worn pc)? that thing was cool! and it had some perdy decent specs!
thomashan @ Jul 6th 2007 1:56PM
awesome! now I get a arm workout (albeit just 1 arm) while running!
Rod @ Aug 16th 2007 2:43PM
That armband looks uh...like you're checking your blood pressure or something! Not for me.
BrettB if you're still looking for a case, I just got three from this company: Waterfield Designs. I think their "Smart Case" would meet your needs. It's really rugged and very slim. Fits in my pocket. http://www.sfbags.com/products/iphonesmartcase/iphonesmartcase.htm
I also got the other two:
