Canon has the official specs now on their website: Digic III, 6.5 FPS, max burst 17 RAW, 75!! JPEG, 10.1 mp, 40% more shots from the battery than my 20D, etc. This thing boasts specs more like an upgraded 5D than a step up from the 30D. they took the best from the 30D and 5D, and added some features from the 1D mark III. I may have to re-think my planned upgrade to the 1D, because the 40D will cost 1/3 as much.
