Maybe that's why they're frustrated. For some reason, the metal rod is ineffectual!
Is it just me, or is viral advertising just old now? Now they just make the company look really unprofessional (there are exceptions, but this looks like al-qaeda used Windows Movie Maker to record the killing of some tablet infidel).
My metaphor broke.
I'll take a stylus over a greasy smear on my LCD any day of the week. Finger based touch panels look like ass when turned off or when showing, say, a movie that is really dark. I for one don't want to be showing off my new tablet with streaks across it.

Give it to me!!! Even if it was old, installing some linux distro would make it work like magic. It was fun, but wrong...but fun XD
No it would make it work like ass because most likely there are only half the needed drivers for the display to make it rotate. Pen input would only work in most the apps. Hibernation and standby would kinda work but battery life would be less then running in Windows because its using some generic driver. Soft buttons wouldn't work at all...etc etc etc.
Screw Linux. Great for servers and that is where it should stay.
Then why are there tablets running linux and working perfectly? Installing drivers is easy as pie, and the battery life doesn't suffer at all.
Because there are drivers for specific models. I didn't say it wouldn't work. Just that it won't work on every model and sure as hell wouldn't on one that comes out this fall.

When the guys from smash my XYZ we're doing this, they did this to make fanboys of company A angry...and fanboys of company B a C we're laughing at it.
Now Dell smashes tablets from Toshiba, Fujitsu or IBM...to appeal business customers ? Huh ? No, that doesn't work, someone go tell them ;)

Entertaining, yes, but what does this prove? Is the Latitude XT going to withstand a drop from a 30 storey building?
I still rather that nice HP tablet laptop. Though I graphics card is the only reason I will never buy it.

I wonder what happens during their meetings.
Every time I see this it just proves to me how desperate Dell is to turn things around. It's just stupid, no one is gonna buy your product because you broke your competitor's tablet. Spend your money on bringing your designs out of the 20th century Dell.

i'm still not buying unless the XT is a 14.1 inch screen with wacom tablet input, otherwise it's gonna have to be the 14. from gateway or toshiba (uggh) i wish acer would hurry up and put out a new 14.1 travlemate tablet but i think i'm going to be disappointed
I'm surprised the battery didn't explode in front of their face after being smashed like that. Hmm...wonder if the chemicals from that laptop would leak into the ground.
speeking of the 90s... i dont think that thing can play doom anymore.
They should use this same approach, but instead of a rival product, they should use Michael Dell.
