Venzero's LINQ player packs WiFi, PC streaming
Venzero was never one to shy away from diversity, and is about to add its 8th model to an ever-expanding lineup that we can never keep track of. Luckily, 8th time's the charm for Venzero, 'cause the new LINQ player sports some welcome features that just might set it apart from the pack. The 4GB flash player includes a microSD slot and a 2.4-inch screen, but the real magic is in the WiFi, which not only manages internet radio, but can stream music straight from your PC, via Windows Media Player 11, as well. No word on track sharing from LINQ to LINQ, but we'll keep our fingers crossed. The player supports MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG and WAV audio, AVI and MPEG-4 video, and even does up some FM tuning and voice recording for kicks. Venzero will be busting this guy out at IFA next week, and should be shipping it in September for a lovable $199.

why do all these otherwise ridiculously cool PMPs only have like max 8GB of storage? and now Apple is rumored to drop the iPod to 16GB?!?! dont they get that a LOT of people have more than 20GB of music and movies? i got a 60GB HDD for my Toshiba Gigabeat S30 because the 30GB was filled.

Such storage is unnecessary why do people need to put like their entire music or video collection on a portable device you can't watch it all or listen to it all its a waste 4GB is plenty and if you need extra files you use the mSD slot btw is this stateside release? or someplace else? looks nice

If I can buy an MP3 Player that can hold all of my songs and not require me to pick out which songs I want to listen to every day, I'd rather choose that option than succumb to the latter.

If you want to waste your time shuffling media off your player to make room for other stuff when you could be doing something more interesting like, I don't know, watching paint dry, or maybe playing a game on the PC or sitting with your SO...well, more power to you.

This can't take on the 605WiFi, outside the Harddrive models there's also a 4GB flash version with standard SD slot and its $220 so price isn't an issue either.

The two players are using WiFi for different reasons, so they're not exactly competing with the 605 WiFi
Charbax @ Aug 23rd 2007 9:57PM
How come are they not exactly competing? 605 WiFi also streams music from the local area network and also has got Webradio support. And the 605 WiFi 4GB starts at $199 also.. Anyways, putting WiFi in PMPs I think is the right thing to do.

I just got an email from Venzero stating that the Linq Mini will be available for sale next week. Not exactly Mid September, but I think I will be getting one. Anyone know if you can use this with slimserver? or does it just work with WMP?
