ThinkSecret is tooting its own horn with a supposed confirmation they've obtained of an iPhone-sized (3.5-inch), hard drive-based, touchscreen
iPod -- ThinkSecret started talking up a touchscreen iPod 20 months ago, and apparently all that blind rumoring is finally paying off. This contradicts
reports of there being flash memory in the device, and is the first time we've heard anyone sound so confident about the 3.5-inch screen size -- though it seems likely that Apple will want to use the same screen as the iPhone for bulk ordering and familiar components -- but otherwise there aren't many surprises. ThinkSecret expects up to
120GB of storage on the 1.8-inch HDD, and sees WiFi as a definite possibility, but doesn't think the
reports about internet radio are too on-target. And of course, the iPod nano is supposed to go QVGA, with video playback and up to 12GB or 16GB of storage. We'd make our usual assurances of all being found out tomorrow, but in reality we're just one day away from the next round of rumors beginning, so it's a small comfort.
I'm confused as to how people can't handle the 8gb of space for their music. Do the iPod users with that much music really not have the time to set up a decent set of playlists to sync in and out every week?
I'd still be using my 1G ipod (revision 2) if I hadn't busted the firewire port. In fact... I think I may fix that this week.
I know people who obsess with filling up their iPods, no matter with what...that's really really sad.
I have a 4G-color model with only 20gb and it's still going strong. Sure, it has lot's of scratches and only part of my library fits on it but it works just like the day i bought it.
Will i upgrade it sometime?
Yes, I will if it fails to operate. But if it's just the battery then I'll replace only that.
sounds like a really awesome device, even though i would never buy one. I can imagine the millions of apple i-pod drones lining up to buy one.
My wife uses her for school (music teacher) and her mini died, so I will see what they offer (PRICE DROP ON NANO ), and then buy one this weekend.
I think the flash memory is for OSX and apps, the hard disk is for media.
bah bah bah, why are people mad that there 30gb, 60gb, 80gb ipod just lost their value? It's not like buying a honda 2007 and then the model is changed in three years and you know have an out of date car. An ipod is a few hundred dollars, sell your oldpod on ebay and use the difference to get the new ipod toch :).
lets just wait one more day and see :)
They should put Sudoko on it.
Wow, why do we upgrade our ipods?? Maybe because from my 1st generation ipod....I now have things that I didnt have before...color screen, albums, playback of movies and tv shows, slimmer form, and a larger HD. Isnt that enough??
