The touch ships on the 28th. WTF??? What happened to the apple that didn't announce products until they were ready to release. Fucking iphone killed that.
Im not sure, but perhaps it has something to do with FCC final approva due to the wifil. I dont know if it can use the same one as the iphone or if it has to be re-approved.
This was an awesome release. The iPod Touch is the future and rightly so. The other releases are awesome supplements. I mean 160 gigs for the iPod classic! And the design is very retro- in tune with the name. The nano designs look ugly in picture. Possible up close, they'll look better. Overall, I know what I'm buying myself and everyone else for Christmas. By the by, the shuffle really needs an upgrade like a OLED screen and a major price drop. I mean the Zen stone looks a hell of lot nicer.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but weren't the previous ipods (80gb) 640x480?
Consider yourself corrected. 320x240
Anybody want to buy a 5g Ipod?
Ugliest ipod colors ever!!!!
Does anyone think that the nano and ipod classic look kinda ugly i liked the glossy finish on the old onces. and the touch is just overpriced cool! but overpriced ecspecialy for how much what 300 i think for the 16 bg what the that ridiculus i think i wasnt at least 20 gb sorry im sure it will change in time
Although nice (until you touch it) glossy fails the test of time (for obvious reasons).
Glass and aluminum all the way, baby!
If you bought your iphone with a credit card with price protection, you can get your price difference back through your credit card company... usually in the first 90 days after purchase.
With that said, I love my phone, although I'm not an apple fan... still, it's the best phone I've ever used and I'm glad I got it. There are things it absolutely needs: more memory, a slot for a memory card, a removable battery, a much better camera with a flash, and drag/drop for putting files on the phone... god, itunes is just awful.
I just want to know if it will be able to play streams from my PS3 like the PSP can.
I really don't want to have to get a PSP, since I really don't do the traveling or walking around and gaming thing, so to have another device that can accept streams from my PS3 besides the PSP would be ideal.
Also, the not wanting to get a device that utlizes a, what I consider to be, soon dead technology like the UMD is another plus.
As for the memory, well Samsung has broken the barrier and can go as high as, what? 96GB? But the price would be prohibitive.
The point of going to NAND flash is to cut down on battery life and size, and like any new memory storage technology, it will come down in price for the higher capacities after the early adopters and corporate buyers and tech industries have bought enough and saturated the market enough to make it affordable for the rest of us.
Hey I'm making a review site for the ipod touch. Let me know what you guys think. http://www.ipodtouchreview.com
It's going to get better once I actually get my hands on one.

"I just want to know if it will be able to play streams from my PS3 like the PSP can. "
with sony at the wheel, doubt it'll happen.
"i think for the 16 bg what the that ridiculus i think i wasnt at least 20 gb sorry im sure it will change in time"
dude its flash memory. its not like we have 16gb flash drives cheap everywhere. its still relatively costly stuff.
"Correct me if i'm wrong, but weren't the previous ipods (80gb) 640x480?"
source videos could be that so they wouldn't look like garbage on the computer. but display was less.
"POS Touch has too many comprises...
- not enough memory for a video player...
- too freakin big for an mp3 player (not to mention you need two hands to use it)...
- sorry ass gimped communications to protect iPhone sales
"
what? its not 1080p video, its h264 video, it doesn't take much space. itunes can also intelligently sync only videos you haven't watched and automate that kind of video syching for you.
why would they include cellphone capability with this ipod? its hardly gimped considering we aren't seeing zunes and creatives touting phone capabilities. be reasonable.
Does anyone else think that the pricing of the shuffle is now ridiculous? Yes, it's small, but for less than twice the price a nano gives you 4 times the memory and a nice screen.
I'm wondering about this partnership with Starbucks and Apple - to use the wireless to purchase the songs with involve T-mobile and their hotspots. Could this be the start of a business with Apple and T-mobile? Could we possibly see a "Skype" widget added to the iPhone in the near future allowing iPhone users to make VOIP calls through T-Mobiles infrastructure?
If you want a video device with big storage, buy an Archos device (they had 160 gig hdd in their devices way before apple), If you want a flash-based mp3, buy a Cowon device (sound quality waaaay better than ipods), and finally if design is your ONLY concern, buy an new ipod...
Well I went threw my iTunes today and was able to get rid about 100 songs.
I'll miss them but its worth the iPod Touch.
i'm wonder about this partnership with Starbucks and iPod.
does it really efficient?
i think nobody wanna visit Starbucks for buying music from free Itunes.
how about your thinking?
