Vigor Gaming rolls out a bundle of new gaming laptops
It looks like Vigor Gaming's deemed it necessary to refresh its line of gaming laptops, with the company introducing no less than five new models today. On the very top end of those is the company's new Atlantis Pro model (seen above with a rather unfortunate choice of artwork), which boasts a mighty 20-inch widescreen display, along with an AMD Turion 64 X2 processor, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX graphics, and a pair of 250GB hard drives in a RAID 0 configuration. It'll set you back $2,800. For few hundred bucks less you can get the standard Atlantis model, which includes a 17-inch WUXGA display, backed up by a Core 2 Duo processor and the same NVIDIA graphics as the pricier model. Rounding out the new models, the Ares, Ares Pro, and Artorius Pro each boast your choice of Core 2 Duo processors, with 15.4 displays on the Ares models and a 17-incher on the Artorius, and various levels of NVIDIA graphics depending on the model. Each of those also comes equipped with a built-in fingerprint reader, with prices ranging from $1299 to $1925 (or higher if you opt for some of the available upgrades).

Wait a minute, this has nothing to do with an apple product. Hmmmm.

It doesn't come with that graphic on it, right? That's just some sticker I hope. I don't think I could stomach pulling that out at the airport.

From Vigor's spiel: "The ATLANTIS is the most sophisticated and powerful notebook ever"
Sophisticated! It is covered in box art for a computer game. Anyone over the age of 12 would be embarrassed to be seen in public with it.

This just in: Apple to buy Vigor and rename brand to iAllyourbasearebelongtous. It will have free WiFi at all EB Games and GameStops worldwide, and run Apple OS exclusively. There will be no games available to run on the new gaming rigs - ever.
Does Apple even make computers anymore?

Why the hell would they put a picture of THAT game??? It sucked so bad they stopped making the rest of the episodes for it...Geez

I'm still trying to figure out why Engadget keeps dropping all these rebadges on us.
Just list the Clevo M590KE 20" 7950gtx laptop, and the 15 companies that rebadge it along with their clever naming systems, and get it over with.
vigor, voodoo, hypersonic, xtreme, rock, malibal, eurocom, pcmicroworks, widowpc, mgepc, prostar, etc.
there you go. sorry if i missed any.

That pic better be old as hell, they stopped making SiN.
The developers didn't learn...release SiN 1 a week after Half-Life, release the first episode a week after Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

I try playing games on my laptop and I get major headache not because my laptop lack the power, but the lcd screen response time is horrendous. What I really want to know what's the response time for these laptop lcd? For sure they are nowhere near the desktop lcd response time.
I mean I don't understand all the power on a laptop when you can't hardly play it because of the terrible screen response time.
blackeagle @ Sep 5th 2007 6:26PM
honestly who would use this in public?

My wife is gaming on her Dell XPS M1710 and the thing is smooth as silk. Based on her experience I've decided to go for Dell XPS M1730. I can't believe people are bothering to drag out non-DX10 based hardware. What is this saying about Nvidia's 8000 series, Vista and DX10?
