RIM experiencing another BlackBerry outage?
Ruh roh, did RIM have another widespread BlackBerry outage? Reports are popping up all across the internets that since as early as this morning BlackBerry users were unable to get their email on T-Mobile or AT&T, and possibly other carriers as well. From the sound of things though, Jim Basille's prayers to the fair and equitable Gods of Push Email were answered, as RIM issued the following statement:"Some customers using BlackBerry Internet Service experienced a delay this afternoon in sending or receiving email. The issue has since been resolved and no messages were lost. RIM continues to investigate the matter. Service for BlackBerry Enterprise Server customers was not impacted. RIM apologizes to customers for any inconvenience."
Oh great, just put many a young, connected couples' relationships in harm's way -- please RIM, won't you think of the yet-unconcieved children?
P.S. -If you're (still) having problems, sound off in comments! Let us know where you're at, who your carrier is, etc.

I'm with T-Mobile in Washington, DC. My company has about 10 bberry's all were having problems ALL day. Very little if any email came through. I resent service books to my bb and it took 10 minutes for me to get the confirmation email. It has been over 30 minutes since I got that email and nothing has come through.
My Pearl's been out since last night. (T-Mobile)
I should have gotten a what instead of an iPhone?
ATT - Baltimore
Emails to all addresses except mycingular.blackberry.net address seem to be working fine now (after sending service books at 10pm). blackberry.net emails are really slow. Get them about 20 minutes after they were sent.
Missing the emails that came between 6pm and 10pm
My sprint was out from 'round noon until just after 6pm mtn time. Then all of a sudden everything just started coming in all at once.
Nextel BB user in Michigan - I've had no problems all day. Just received messages a few minutes ago.
Verizon 8703e - mail via that service has been down all day, Enterprise has been ok.
Denver, ATT haven't received an email since 8:35 this morning. Don't seem 'resolved' to me LOL.
I'm in Austin, TX, on T-Mobile, and have not received email all day - it's now 10:23 at night and STILL no email - ugh!!
By stock in them now. right now, as it will be lower due to this outage, then it will go back up tomorrow when things are back to normal.
My tip of the day.
verizon 8703e in michigan was down all day. Gmail saved me!!
No e-mail from around noon CDT until now when I resent my service books.
Forgot to say I'm on T-Mobile.
Not working at least during the last 12 hours.
The service provider is Movistar in Chile.
Cheers
Still down in Phoenix...I am with Sprint. It has been at least 12 hours now.
I'm in Chicago, with AT&T and i've been out of service since about noon central time....
Florida, T-Mobile, BB Pearl. Out since 11am Fri; still out at 2am Sat.
at&t, blackberry pearl - no emails from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. I admin about 20 bb's, and they ALL experienced issues today (CA, AZ, UT, CO). It's surprising (and a little disturbing) how much we depend on instant email!
I apparently was affected by it since I just now got 5 e-mails all at once that had shown up in Thunderbird around 15 hours ago. Go T-Mobile in New York City! Woo! Or RIM or whoever messed up.
its been fixed.
As of 2 AM Texas time, my T-Mo BB is sending me my mail from my BB account. I have yet to get anything from my AOL account.
This reportedly affected T-Mo, Sprint, Nextel, Cingular and Verizon as reported on another forum I am part of.
Forgot to mention that mine had been down since 9 PM last night (when I first noticed it). It could have been down earlier but I didn't notice it. I am in the Houston, TX area.
Significant delays on my blackberry with T-mobile network today.
Verizon wireless, yahoo email user, blackberry 8703e, still down. Not working. This sucks.
This is still not working. NO yahoo email. verizon blackberry 8703e. sunday, sept 9, 2007, 326pm, eastern time. nyc.
BIS not working also in Argentina. Same problems.
STILL down.
Verizon Wireless. 8703e. Sunday Sept 9, 2007 @ 22:22 EST GMT -5:00
TMobile, San Francisco, Sunday 7:59PM.
I'm still not getting my mail.

Companies like RIM have spent billions of dollars on software from big vendors to fix slow or failing applications but these monitoring tools only go so far. Unfortunately, CEOs or CFOs aren't aware of the problem until the service - such as Blackberry - goes down or underperforms. Organizations need to be able to ensure the predictable operation of mission critical applications to ensure that business systems operate at their fullest potential—essentially allowing a service outage or slowdown to be resolved before customers are impacted. Without this, companies like RIM will continue to face the scrutiny of unhappy customers in the face of ongoing service outages.
Still having problems with T-Mobile. I start receiving email and then they disappear. Neat trick, yea? No it really frustrates me to no end
