I don't know if this is just people jumping on the "Let's bash Apple" bandwagon, but if it's not... ...then that would mean that *EVERY ONE* of Apple's new iPod line has had some quality control issue! This is just disgusting. I'm not one to bash any specific company, and I love my iPhone and Mac mini, but there seems to be a severe quality assurance issue at Apple. I'm scared to buy anything else from them, because we can't go for a week without hearing about what else they screwed up!
I want to like Apple, I really do. I bought the Mac Mini just to try them out, but these issues have made me scared to buy any more of their hardware. When we can go a month without hearing about QA issues, then I might buy some more from them.
On the other hand, there's probably no single mass-produced product made by ANY company whereby there were no defects at all. I think that Apple just gets hyped and things are blown out of proportion for both good and bad aspects.
You're right, but this isn't just one product...it is a line of products. And all four of them have had different issues. Also, the iMac screen problems... QA testing exists for a reason. Like I said, I love my iPhone, but Apple needs to get on the ball.
After scanning different forums etc. and finding that countless people are experiencing an array of problems with the new iPod Classic, many of which are the same as the problems that I am having to deal with, I am convinced that Apple has made a very big blunder.
They should have stuck with the engineering basics from the previous generation iPod because it actually works, the new iPods are nothing more than expensive paper weights in my opinion, the list of problems that these things suffer from is long, after little better than a months ownership I have opened a case with Apple and exchanged the unit multiple times yet still the problems remain with no resolution in sight.
I would like to have an iPhone but it has it's own gremlins, this is the kind of foolishness that puts a very large bull’s-eye on the company behind the products in question, I agree with insertAlias, I would be hard pressed to recommend Apple products in the future let alone buy another one without some major incentives coupled with the correction of the problems that these products currently suffer from.
