Love to be beaten to a bloody pulp by your overpowered laptop? Looking for performance that would make even the strongest bodybuilder collapse in fear? Have you been feeling let down by game speeds which don't actually rip open a hole in the space-time continuum? Well, luckily for you,
Voodoo exists... and its made a new laptop. Check into the ENVY M:152, the company's latest entry into the gamer-centric laptop world, which showcases a Core 2 Extreme X7800 CPU, Intel's murderous Santa Rosa chipset, a 15.4-inch, WSXGA+, 1680 x 1050 display, the NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT video card, up to 4GB of RAM, a wide array of hard drive options, plus Bluetooth, a built-in webcam, and style to spare (or so we hear). No word on pricing or street date, but you can expect the systems soon.

Is it just me or does that look like an Asus G1S?
Adoniteking @ Sep 26th 2007 10:55AM
its just you.
Naveen @ Sep 26th 2007 11:35AM
And I thought Dell M1730 was ugly...
jon @ Sep 26th 2007 11:53AM
i hope it comes with a can of flat black spraypaint.
Loonie @ Sep 26th 2007 11:51AM
That's monstrous. I bet the moment you switch it on, the battery just implodes into a black hole.
mannequin @ Sep 26th 2007 11:52AM
8600GT is like a bunch of old men in a retirement house washing their feet in a warm pool, "high-end" performance wise.
Steve @ Sep 26th 2007 4:40PM
This still does not dethrone the Clevo/Sager 9261 a la dual 8700GT's in SLI, Q6600 Quad Core, 17' WSXGA+, Raid 0, etc.
frankie @ Sep 26th 2007 5:49PM
No, this is a mid-range laptop. For similar stats to the 9261, you'd want to move up to Voodoo's heavyweight notebooks... the H:171 for example.
ChandlerSca3 @ Sep 27th 2007 1:16PM
How much does that cost
james @ Sep 26th 2007 3:22PM
Or, you COULD just buy a small desktop, build it yourself with similar parts off NewEgg, and save $1,000. But that of course would be a tiny bit of work and probably not worth the hassle, millionaire.
Raymond @ Sep 26th 2007 1:47PM
That's stupid. If you wanted a desktop, then stop looking at the post. Dumbass.
Josh @ Sep 26th 2007 4:10PM
that response made me crack up. Well said.

... and it keeps you safe when you're jogging at night.

Voodoo really thinks they can compensate butt-ugly design with bright garish paint work.
They really should spend a bit more effort on finding an ODM that will make nicer casing designs. As it is at the moment, every single one of their laptops look like brightly painted pizza boxes.
telepheedian @ Sep 26th 2007 3:27PM
Actually, they should just take advantage of their partnership with HP, and make a laptop equivalent to the Blackbird 002.
Mike @ Sep 26th 2007 3:45PM
The picture is wrong. This is the old 151, not the 152.
smikk02 @ Sep 26th 2007 6:31PM
Stay away from Voodoo, their prices are obviously horrendous and their customer support is even more atrocious. They've had my machine in for tech support for half a year now with no resolution yet and their number one go-to line is "we'll call you back in a few hours when we have more answers..."- they never call back. Stay Away.
zeke @ Sep 26th 2007 8:02PM
It is a Compal IF90/Sager NP2090.

Haha you can get a same spec Dell for like $1500, and this Voodoo costs $3300. Voodoo is such a joke, I dunno how anyone can be foolish enough to buy one.

and also a much bigger price tag
silver2falcon @ Sep 28th 2007 12:17PM
Performance is going to be barely better (if it's better at all) than my ASUS C90S. The 8600GT is a joke.
Striker9 @ Sep 30th 2007 11:58PM
Why anyone would buy this when you could get the same thing for ~$1200 is beyond me. It's the IFL-90 / Sager NP2090, just re-branded. Check out xoticpc.com and powernotebooks.com
