Ermmm... can this be unlocked to be used on, o I don't know, some other CDMA network besides Verizon? It does say "exclusively thru Verizon". Let's see how strict they are about unlocking this vs. Apple/AT&T are on the iPhone. There'll probably be no media backlash on Verizon for cracking down on that either.
CDMA phones aren't locked, usually CDMA carriers will just block phones from other providers. If you can find a different CDMA carriar that doesn't block phones from other carriers, than you are probably good to go.
The radio (CDMA receiver) would work but it's Verizon's software interface you may have to write an OS to get it to work on another CDMA network.
-Who cares that the interface resembles the iPhone, is the iPhone available to VZ customers?
-Apple and many other companies have been trying to create a good touch screen phone. The hardest part was making the interface work well with the applications. Apple just so happened to snatch up the best interface created be another company and now owns the patten.
Without that interface Apple would be in the same boat as every other PDA on the market trying to make the touch screen more user friendly.
