Rohm certainly has a thing for cranking out
diminutive devices that elicit attention, and the firm chose CEATEC as the venue to demonstrate its long-awaited full-color OLED that's "smaller than a fingernail." According to a company spokesperson, the 320 x 240 resolution display measures around four- by three-millimeters, is "embedded in a prototype chip and is designed for use in a video-camera viewfinder." Notably, the unit actually requires humans to view it under a microscope in order for it to be clearly seen, and although nothing was said about a commercialization date, it was suggested that Rohm is already working up a similar version with twice the pixels.

View Finder??
I'm guessing the "Optical" view finder is going to be replaced with this thing.

Can light be shined through it like LCDs, would be kick ass to make a pocket-projector with such a small screen.

Twice the pixels? What type of resolution would that be, 452.55 x 339.41? Or would it be four times the pixels? (640 x 480)

erm get your maths checked... 2x 240 is 480 not 4x240

Now THIS is something I'd get implanted in my eye socket.
But with my luck it wouldn't honor approved content flags, and so I'd end up not being able to look at anything on TV or the internet anymore. *sigh* you win this round against the Cyborgs, MPAA.
