Earlier this summer, Led Zepplin
decided to make the leap to iTunes, and now a segment of the band's catalog will also be available through Verizon Wireless. Reportedly, VZW customers will soon be able to access landmark jams for use in ring tones, ringback tones, alerts and over-the-air song downloads, and for the true fan, you can even select a Zeppelin wallpaper. Unfortunately, details beyond that are pretty slim, but we do know that full-song downloads will launch on November 13th to coincide with the release of Mothership, "a two-CD collection that spans the band's illustrious career."
WOW!
wish I had Verison so I could PAY for songs that I already own to put on my crippled phone.
I'm glad I have Verizon... with a Motorola Q. No, not the world's perfect phone, but it's NOT crippled, and I'm NOT bothered by Verizon's UI or VCast features that I don't use.
Also, I purchased the phone used on Ebay, which allowed me to use it WITHOUT signing a Data plan contract. If I want unlimited data one month, I add it. If I don't, I take it off.
Plus, I really AM impressed with Verizon's reliability... dropped calls are never my fault.
Sorry for the Q advertisement... I know it's "so last year"... but I thought I'd reply to someone who is obviously a Verizon hater.
And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune then the piper will lead us to reason.
NO STAIRWAY
Denied!
These mobile music stores with their DRM & restricted handsets should just pack it up.
A crippled Verizon phone with the Nazi-red UI certainly is no stairway to heaven.
How dare you misspell Zeppelin.
yeah, i totally did the chick on the right.
Isn't November 13 the same release date for new Zunes? Methinks something is afoot!
Who really cares about these crappy second rate, cell-phone music stores anyway? Has anyone ever met someone that actually uses them? Verizon should focus all of that misspent money on newer phones instead of always coming in second behind Cingular, I mean, AT&T.
P.S. I have Verizon and am happy with their service, I despise Cingular but it's not doubt they have better phones (i.e. iPhone).
