Check it BumbleBee,
Gogic Five just got himself a Racer extension kit allowing him to auto-maniacally transform from a walking, talking menace to a four-on-the-floor racer. A plodder really, with acceleration more akin to John Deere than Ferrari. Still, a robot that can stomp out your sentient juices and then back over you to finish the job is worthy of our attention. The racer add-on is available in Japan for ¥8,400 or about $72 -- that's about $300 for the entire kit. See him in action after the break.

Enough with the infantile xformers crap already. Are half the engadget writers under the age of 10?
@equalizer,
No, all of us are... mommie.
Thomas
Well you're obviously not a fan of the "Five people Gogic type mode" distortion like the rest of us are.
(damn Google transrator)
Thomas I'll let this one article pass...but please don't let us in on the red/green/yourColorHere version when it comes out next week, k?
So...can I use this mod on my 94' Accord?
And to make myself perfectly clear...
RC Car: yes
RC Robot: hell yes
The taco bell grande that is the "Gogic Racer"...me thinks not.
Isn't a transformer in disguise a little redundant?
that wasn't much of a transformation. all it does is stick its feet out an put its arm back, which is only slightly better than my cars transformation into a turtle, and all i do is open all the doors and pop the trunk.
Ha!... Bet your car isn't as good as my blanket.. It transforms into a parachute in 5 minutes... (With some human interaction)... Alright. .Stone me.. Even I hate my comment
That was awesome!...
If it only went a little faster...

If it's a kit, you could totally just throw on some better motors and make that thing zoom.
@ssjchar: Have you seen a better transformation? that is the most advanced transformation from a functional robot to a functional car that I've seen, outside of a movie.
looks like it was made from an erector set.
Wooo.. a crappy looking car that transforms into a crappy looking robot, impressive. I'll admit it being probably the first electrically controlled transformer it's not terrible, but it needs a LOT of asthetic work.
Oh sweet a mini-con!!
pros: super cool, only to get more advanced in the future
cons:
1) looks like its walking around on its knees.
2) oh...it doesnt do that transformer **EERRUUOOGGGEEEE** sound whilst transforming =(
I am guessing that all the haters are neither fans of "Mad Max" (cheesy "future" cars) or of lame sci-fi (eg: "Day the Earth Stood Still").
Personally, I think it rocks, but maybe for $xxx less I could get in on the action. :(
Either you like this stuff or you don't (maybe it would be better if a diy version showed up on Hackaday), but come on, why all the hate?
zomg it's loud as hell - and those wires dangling about - snag! - but hell yeah - that is worth the money because it ACTUALLY transforms - now lets see this in 1:1 scale using a car?
PLEASE someone make one for real people!
to the person that said it doesn't make the transformer sounds - come on! - it's making enough sounds already!
PLEASE someone make one for real people!
i want one - and a human size scaled one as well please!
