Looks like HP finally noticed that people were a little
confused about the shipping status of its newest iPaqs, so the company dispatched Worldwide Public Relations Manager Mike Hockey to clear things up: according to Mike, the iPaq 110 should be in stores soon, but
"a supply issue discovered in the development of the recently announced HP iPAQ 200 products will cause the availability to be later than we had hoped in some regions of the world." So much for that optimistic ship date HP had listed, which appears to be a glitch with the web ordering system that always promises an "estimated ship date" of two days in the future. Also, it never comes to your Little League games. Stupid promises.

Damn: I bought one when it said the 25th. I guess it won't be shipping today. Still, I wanted to have a chance, and I wanted to force the issue with them. Alas, it's far from all that's broken on their website (show me something that isn't broken!).
Thanks for covering this, Engadget. Why am I chomping at the bit for a Windows PDA, you ask? Well, it so happens that piano tuning software is one niche that is still on the Pocket PC platform. It made sense in the beginning -- no keyboard to restrict placement of the display when doing a tuning, and no hard drive or fan noises to muddy the signal going into the thing. And I really want a high-res display. I had finally decided to take the plunge the week Dell discontinued the Axim, so I was happy when I saw the 200.
By the way, I called HP, and the only difference between the 210 and 211 is which retail channel it's sold through. Lame.

LOL@ Little League. It appears the web ordering system always has a work emergency, but REALLY wanted to be there, champ.

I was really pumped about the 210 - it would solve a lot of problems for me and easier than using a laptop in the car. But since HP can't make up their minds on when to put this on the market and they pump the price up with every announcement, I think I'll just invest a few hundred more and get a UMPC.
Needless to say, I am not happy with HP right now, and I am seriously considering dropping them like a hot potato

HP Sucks Arse. I boycott them and bombpaq for 5 years and very happy. I have to load an HP print driver on my lappie for a customers printer - a half hour later and 1gig of excess shiot later - I can print. WTF HP - no one wants your extra baggage. Thought I was rid of you!!!

relevant much?
nice useless drive by crazy rant :) ... i'm sure HP misses you.
I miss having a solid performing pocket pc ... i intend on snagging the 111 ... it should chug along good. Fast CPU ... wireless out the butt ... high capacity SD ... if i like the 111 i might ebay it and snag the 211 next year.

Just ordered the 110 from HP. They told me they have just 9 more available today. They also have a 3 yr. accidental damage replacement plan for $149.

Hmm, still says coming soon on the HP Home and Student website. I plan to use the student discount to get mine, but looks like I have to keep waiting for the 210.

Oh, I missed the part about 210 being delayed, crap!

Been using my new 110 all week. Like it so far. Wish it came with a backup utility like my old 4150 though. Also WM6 is not a snappy as WM2003. But syncronization is great with exchange server (email and tasks actually work), and I like the build quality and size.

I intend to purchase an Ipaq 110 or 210, but I intend to use them as GPS also. Does anybody knows if there is a GPS that is compatible with them? or at least with the Ipaq 110,
thanks,
JE

I got a nifty Holux GPSlim 240 bluetooth receiver. It does in fact communicate with the ipaq 110, once I got the COM port situation straightened out. It's a great product and light enough to hang from a lanyard around my neck. What I haven't found is a good, inexpensive navigation program. DeLorme's Street Atlas works fine, but doesn't really navigate very neatly.
