Best Buy getting Asus Eee stock next week?
We've had a couple of tips from readers who were told by Best Buy that new stock of the Asus EEE PC is due to hit next week (November 11th.) Seems a little iffy for new stock to arrive on a Sunday but apparently the sales representatives showed the screen to one of our tipsters, and that date was on the screen. We're guessing that this is only referring to the 4GB model which Asus has released so far, too. If you're in the UK, you may have luck over at RM.co.uk, the official resellers of the miniBook over there: their online site says units are shipped within 3 days.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

Woot, 3 days! Time to start saving :-)
It's RM.com by the way.
They probably get the stock itself earlier, but their sales start Sunday, so I'm guess it will be in their next ad (starting Sunday the 11th).
RM have stock - some credit card orders have been fulfilled within 24 hours - I was playing with a 4g model on Friday which was ordered 4:30pm Thursday !
I ordered from RM already, delivery date of the 8th November. Will see if they can stick to it.
Possibly worth pointing out that RM theoretically only sell to those involved with education - on the giving or receiving end.
www.canadacomputers.com is already selling it for 399 (in canada of course). You would think we would get it cheaper than 399 cause of the conversion thing. But nooooo. Damnit we never get anything cheaper.
If only Asus would incorporate the guts of this into a UMPC form factor for about the same price. I kinda dont dig the laptop styling but it works.
You're kidding, right?
When are they gonna start putting these things out in black? Silly little complaints but white gadgets make no sense to me.
I work in a small computer store, and according to my suppliers, Black Eee PCs should be available within the next week.
I can't wait to see what they look like!
Google much? Plenty of pics of black eee's out there, theequniox.

Nice tone buddy! :-( I'm aware they were planning black but that it hadn't yet been released. I was asking when the black one would be.
Have a nice day.
Reading comprehension, much? My post was directed at the guy above me. That's why I included his misspelled moniker in my post.
best buy canada too or its just best buy usa?
Is this really breaking news ? Many sites in the UK have been quoting the 11th of November for weeks now, including ebuyer.com and microdirect.
It is for sale on Amazon

With free shipping (in 4 to 6 weeks)!
the source by circuit city web site in canada already have Eee in stock ! 399$
Do you know a web site, where they can send the Eee PC to Mexico, of course with low prices of shipping.
Will it be in Best Buy Blue? And what's this about UK - isn't engadget in America? I don't see no .UK at the end of the URL. USA! USA!
its not going to be available in stores and as far as i could tell an online only item. i work there and have been fallowing it outside the stores for awhile and just seen it pop up in our systems about three days ago. i couldnt find a single store that was going to have any in so my best guess would be there putting it online only probably not enough of them to be worth shipping 10 or so to every store so i wouldnt get your hopes up too much if you wanna pick it up
I just called Bestbuy.com, Best Buy in Costa Mesa, CA and Best Buy in Westminster, CA and NONE see it on their systems of carrying it on the 11th... don't know where these sources are coming from that say Best Buy is carrying the Eee PC... also I remember Asus not mentioning Best Buy as a retailer for the Eee PC
Just saw in on Costco.com $399 (shipping included). You can't beat 90 return policy and 2 year mfg warranty. Normal delivery 7-10 days
Is there a reason Asus didn't fill the whole screen with....screen? I would've loved to get this but with those massive black borders, i think it would be too much of a distraction :(
Does this thing run Windows? Every damn site I read fails to mention how well the software actually works or if it is Windows, Linux, or some kind of proprietary OS. How well does the software work?!
All these dumb sites do is list stats. not a real review. boo.
its not in the sales circular for this week
