Asus Eee PC now out in "Galaxy Black"
While the original white of Asus's Eee PC is no slouch in the looks department, we're finding the stylings of this "Galaxy Black" version all the more irresistable -- maybe it's just because the screen bezel doesn't look quite as dramatic this way. The new color was revealed about a week ago, but the good news is that the black version is receiving zero mark-up in price, instead of the rumored $20. Taking notes, Apple? Oh, and if black still doesn't do it for you, the 2G Surf is just around the corner.

Anyone know the OS on this? Does it run a standard OS like XP or Ubuntu? Would like to write about it at http://www.openjason.com

It can run XP and Ubuntu. It comes with a custom flavor of Xandros built by ASUS
A ten-second google search would reveal the answer you are looking for, but instead, you had to spam the comments to advertise your site. Thanks.
That wasn't the idea here Juaquin... thanks for having concern though. People like you make commenting a bad experience... driving us away from great blogs like this...

Black? Check.
Full Linux? Check.
10" screen? Not yet.
Support for broadband modem? Uncertain.
Close, but not quite good enough for me. A little more, Asus, without too much of a price increase, and I'll buy a couple for sure.
Support for broadband modem uncertain? It has USB ports, an ethernet port, and 802.11b/g wireless. It supports Windows and multiple flavors of Linux. I'm pretty sure it can handle a broadband connection.
By "uncertain" I meant "I have not personally researched and determined if this is possible".
the black looks even nicer than the white one. excellent :)
I never understood that crap Apple often pulls by asking higher prices for other colors - it's all painted plastic anyway, it doesn't cost more to paint it a different color.
And people think MS is bad - if MS pulled half the crap Apple does they'd be hanged and burned, but not with Apple, everybody loves apple. Double standard, that's what it is.
Oh yeah, almost forgot - I like the black better than the white for the Eee, now if they added a bigger hardrive and reduced the thickness of the frame around the screen I'd be all over that bad boy.
