BenQ intros the Joybook R43 laptop
We know what you're thinking: "Hey, hasn't BenQ gotten a name change?" Well guess what, cowboy? Not for laptops. In fact, the multi-named, electronics-making creature-thing has just introduced a new model into its Joybook laptop lineup, the R43. The system sports a 14.1-inch "UltraVivid" WXGA display, an Intel 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, up to 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, an SiS Mirage 3+ GPU, and all with WiFi and Bluetooth you could possibly need. Of course -- more importantly than specs -- the laptop features a stylized, abstract case design guaranteed to make the ladies want you and the men want to be you... or, vice versa. The R43 will be available in China in December, with a rollout in other countries "in the coming months."

So there are still people using sis huh? This thing is worse than a gma950.... I like the abstract design tho... To bad it doesn't cover all the lid...

the graphics card must have something to do with weight? benq usually puts the new intel mobo with x3100?
i own a benq s41, 14.1" that has 8600m and comes at 2.05kg without battery, 2.35kg with
can't see how is this an improvement on this model?

the price and the weight are not the issue; it's a low end pc but that doesn't help me understand why they used that crappy gpu:
it scores 1000 on 3dmark01... thats even lower than a geforce 2... Don't expect any gaming on this thing... I hope they wont sell it for more than 500$... that's what it's worth for me...
