At this weight, the Macbook Pro pretty much out specs it. Lighter (5.2 ibs) with a 8600GT (much much faster), LED backlit screen. On the other hand, you can get a 2MP webcam and Bluray,SSD, 3G wireless and a 320GB hard drive as options where you can't on the MBP.
Actually, a 256MB 8600GT puts on parity with a Macbook Pro. I'm willing to bet screen brightness and build quality aren't up to the same level, but this makes the M1530 much more appealing.
It is worse than that. On the US site the res says 1200 X 800. ON a 15 inch screen that is the worst. Now my 15 inch is running 1600 x 1050, I refuse to go less. I would consider buying this XPS if the resolution were upped
I called Dell the day it came out and explained that I was buying a laptop that day and I had been waiting for the m1530 to be released and that I was expecting a LED back lit screen, non glossy and a better resolution that what was offered. The rep attempted to explain that the LED was not better. I then stated that I didnt really want a MAC book Pro but I would go ahead and purchase a MAC. He placed me on hold and then came back on and asked if I could wait 4 days. I said I may be able to why? He said that the LED will be an option then and to call him back at his direct line when I see that option online and I can get 300 dollars off. Anyway so hold your horses guys, its coming!

yes but its also $2000+
Someone needs to edit the article... there are two options for this notebook in the graphics department:
256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT
128MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M GS
There is no option for "256MB of NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GT graphics" like the post says.
Actually the MBP does have a 2 megapixel webcam. The latest gen does anyway, it's just not a well known fact.
