I think you're reporting wrong info. The battery life on my Zune 30 improved by at least 50%.
I agree with Jdmountford. The new beta Zune desktop software is so horrible it's amazing MSFT actually put their name on it. If it was just marginally horrible, that would be a 100% improvement.

The new software is so fast and simple to use ... i don't understand why everyone is griping about it.
