NVousPC outdoes itself with Romero Britto special edition laptop
NvousPC has never been one to shy away from unorthodox paint-jobs for its laptops, but it now looks to have outdone even itself with its latest eye-catching model, which it created with a little help from pop artist Romero Britto. As with the company's other laptops, however, the specs are decidedly less stand-out than the exterior, with this particular model boasting a 15.4-inch display, a T7600 Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and a lowly CD-RW / DVD-ROM combo drive. No word on pricing or availability, but you'll apparently be able to get a closer look at it at Britto's Miami Beach gallery through February of next year.

i love Britto. and I love his new laptop design. I think his work is an asset to the city of Miami. I MUST have it.

Seems like the kind of thing you'd be really excited about for the first week, then later come to really regret that you have a classless laptop...
Wwhat @ Dec 1st 2007 3:58PM
If you are in the know about what you pay for pop art and are in such circles it might project more class than you think, but only if it's a limited edition thing I guess.

:\
looks like cartoon network exploded on a laptop.
The problem i have with it (other than the fact that it looks like... well... not good) is that the same image is used for the outer shell, the border for the screen, and the inside shell...
really thats screams unimaginitive and unprofessional... but whatever. I'm sure someone will get a kick out of this.
holycow @ Dec 1st 2007 12:28PM
damn u are so right... it has CARTOON NETWORK written all over it! (not literally) .. at first glance i thought i saw DEXTER in there somewhere.. wierd..
Wwhat @ Dec 1st 2007 3:55PM
Agreed, the repeating pattern spoils it.
Bad Beaver @ Dec 1st 2007 11:48AM
No. Just say it.
Actually, the 90s called, they want their cheesy, unbearably colorful POP DESIGN back. "Imagine you were still in high-school, but with the tech-specs of today! - Comes with exclusive "Clarissa" DVD-Set!"
iShudder.
Deputy Doffoos @ Dec 1st 2007 1:07PM
aah Clarissa the memories...
when Melissa Joan Hart used to weight under 200 Pounds...

ugh god im so sick of britto. when you live in miami, you get to see that dudes work on a daily basis. there's a freakin 40 foot sculpture not a mile from my house.

its so weak.
oh look at all the nice comments above! thank you people!!
Firebird @ Dec 1st 2007 3:38PM
Man. Yes. Just yes. Hate that sculpture, sooo much. Can't go to Best Buy or Target or have a nice lunch at Lan (great lunch specials btw) without seeing that damn thing. Once I saw a bunch of kids throwing rocks at it, and was tempted to join them, and I've always secretly wished that a metrorail train would careen off it's tracks and slam into the thing.
kristofer brozio @ Dec 1st 2007 1:58PM
so basically for the price of this ugly a** laptop I could get a top of the line Alienware or even Sager that would pretty much blow the doors off of anything else available today and not be embarrased to show it off in public? Hmm.. choices, choices...
Richard John @ Dec 1st 2007 3:43PM
I'd be ashamed to show Alienware stuff in public. Their designs are horrible.
ark_v2 @ Dec 1st 2007 2:03PM
Lord, that's hideous!
juanp444 @ Dec 1st 2007 4:01PM
i actually like this laptop a lot. i think its fresh as hell and its a a sick concept.... what would a cyber NERD that likes Alienware and Sager machines know anything about STYLE when they don't get out much?!?!! cyber nerds, your opinion on this laptop is pretty much void since u have no idea what style is, and haven't left your houses in years...
remember... there's a reason people are paying top dollar for these Britto machines, because they're fresh!, plain and simple... they combine art with an everyday personal use.
i just checked out NVousPC's design gallery and saw they offer a ton of different designs, even some from Digital Blasphemy... i guess if you don't particularly like this britto design you can choose from many others... http://www.nvouspc.com/design_library.asp

Actually being fresh is flipping out a sidekick or a iPhone or a Voyager the day after it comes out.
Little handhelds are fresh. laptops aren't really.
The problem with this is that the one artist who might appreciate this art can't afford this
Wwhat @ Dec 1st 2007 4:01PM
Might have less chance of being stolen?
cwh @ Dec 1st 2007 4:31PM
Have you seen the Romero Britto Audi RS4?
