Steve Jobs to deliver opening keynote at MacWorld 2008
In a shocking turn of events, IDG World Expo officially announced today that Steve Jobs will in fact headline next year's MacWorld San Francisco conference, with his opening keynote address set to go down at 9:00AM sharp on January 15th. Exactly what that keynote will entail remains a mystery, of course, although we've certainly heard plenty of rumblings on the matter. Whatever it is El-Jobso has in store, you can be sure we'll have by-the-minute coverage of it, so mark your calenders and watch this space, or not.

It's not new phones but the new macbook pro 13.3 and new specs on the macbook and macbook pros.
may include solid state drives on the new macbook pro.
Great, if they release new MBPs at this event, then I better start saving up. Maybe I'll be able to afford it on my meager college budget by next school year.
How exactly is this news? Just because you place a sarcastic remark at the beginning of the piece do not give journalist leeway from having to write an actual story.
Really one of the founders and high-ups of a company is going to speak at the opening event for his company. Does Bill get a news story every time he confirms his attendance to a Microsoft conference. How about with other companies?
This really makes me wonder if you have some sort of quota on the number of articles you want released a day. Frankly if this is the case. Save your integrity. Have less articles... the time you spend on not bullshitting you way into a "news story" you could actually increase the quality of story you put out.
Also people will respond that they are not journalists they are bloggers. Shame on you, that sort of mentality will just degrades the entire internet for everyone. Bloggers still have their names at the top of their pieces people still judge bloggers based on their editorials and reports of news stories. Just because anyone can blog doesn't mean you can show pride and attempt to report news, not what we assume wll happen anyway.
Now if Jobs said he wasn't doing this keynote now then you have a story. But until you have something to new to report you might as well save your bandwidth.
Yes I cant wait I live for stevies keynotes...also check this new video content website out...http://www.vimby.com/video/cars/us/all/detail/2755
Don't know if the keynote will mention all of this... My take on what is in store is this:
- new MacBook (the most successfull Apple computer) -> new "iMac" like design, touch technology, new processor, graphic card, thinner
- new MacBook Pro (the most desired and referenced Apple computer) -> new "innovative" design, more touch technology than the MacBook, thinner, newer processors
- new iTunes content -> new studios, new features (maybe rental? maybe 720p content (talks with studios are likely to be: higher price, no extras but higher definition)
- new "hobby news" -> SW upgrade for AppleTV
- new "Apple software" -> Aperture 2.0, iPhone SDK and first software titles, maybe others, revision of iTunes (the store has grown to wide and too complicated, everything seems to run through iTunes (updates, software, video, music, you name it)
- new "Mac" -> expand the successful notebook line adding something slick, stilysh (as always) and very portable
- new "Mac Pros" -> the foundation of Apple among professionals. This line needs: new design, new features. Maybe they'll become somewhat smaller
These are news that, IMHO, make perfectly sense, because they are in the natural development of Apple. For the cathegory of dreams are the following:
- "home server" -> might be an expansion of MacMini or Airport Extreme or an entirely new product. It would be: 1) content storage (if you can purchase 720p movies or TV series you will soon need to have an appropriate, centralized, storage space (to sync the ones you want on the AppleTV, iPods, iPhone or even on the "small" HD of your notebook (regardless of which model, you don't want to take it all with you) 2) syncing calendar and contact data among all devices (over the internet with .Mac) 3) streaming content so you have access to all or part of it on the go over the internet (tight integration with .Mac) 4) centralized TimeMachine for all systems and all devices (TimeMachine for iPhone would be great)
- "high definition movies" -> get over "almost DVD like" and show real benefit for customers in purchasing titles on iTunes with the new price scheme!
- new screens for pros: real new screens and for "real pros"
- games on AppleTV (as you might have guessed at this point I am one of the few "crazy" people owning one)
- Video content of iTunes available in more and more countries (maybe a worldwide simultaneous release or a road map about that, or even MENTIONING it)
That would be a 8 hours keynote... But I hope MacWorld brings some of what I mentioned, because my feeling is that most of it is expected by customers. Apple has boatloads of cash and, if they want to mantain their current growth trend, some of it needs to be done badly.
Maybe it will be iCar to complete with Microsoft Sync that Ford is advertising.

*********APPLE ANNOUNCEMENT**********
Apple announced today that it has developed a breast implant that can store
and play music. The i-Tit will cost $499 or $599 depending on cup size. This
has been hailed as a major breakthrough because women are always complaining
about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.
er... 9:00 in what timezone?
No new products right now but SJ will come up on the stage and the show goes like this..."a major breakthrough update for the iPhone and Touch - no other mobile device never had this kind of cool feature before. We created a new breakthrough feature with which you can copy the text displayed in the emails or the web or whatever. This feature should have been there right from the beginning but we pulled all the developer resources from iPhone team to work on Leapord. Now that Leapord is out we shifted our focus back on this revolutionary and easy to use 'copy' feature".
Some one from the crowd:---"You are talking about the copy, but what about paste".
SJ --- "We do not talk about our future announcements/products...lets keep the discussion to the current features. If the battery technology keeps up with advancements of iPhone then you may get it for the holiday season."
I myself use couple of Apple products and iPhone, iMac and all the other Apple products are good and easy to use but the head - JOBS - that tries to lock down the things SUCKS badly.
忽然在想,如果老乔走了苹果怎么办?
