I got the 8GB model Eee. I'm considering selling it because, while its fun to tinker with, it is severely limited even if you change the OS and add memory. If you run Win XP you are limited to 4GB RAM and you still have no optical drive, limited screen resolutions and short battery life.
My Lenovo X60s gets 8 hours of battery life and since its a tablet, it is really fun to use. My only dissapointment was the lack of a webcam in the frame so I'm gonna get the HP TX1320 tablet.
4gig of ram is limiting in XP? seriously? no optical isn't a big deal either. I've used an external one with my dell x300 for years. Seems like a standard thing to give up for weight and portability.
