Camy's Light Sword Wiimote holsters Jedi things up a notch
With all the Wiimote couplings currently making the rounds, we're bound to see a few lightsabers out there. Of course, this is where Camy's Pro Gear Wii Light Swords come into play. The colored plastic Wiimote holders are available in three "ultra bright" colors -- including the red "Dark Knight," which we're almost positive is a copyright infringement. Nevertheless, the swords will cradle your Wiimote lovingly, with ample room for the IR signal to make its way to your console. Should you desire, you can flip a switch and light up the night sky with your fear-inducing -- yet rather stubby -- laser blade. Sure, we've seen similar, but these come in green. The swords are slated for a May / June release, no word on price.

Nntendo has a wiimote accessory coming out for female wii-users called the "wiibrator"
ssuk @ Jan 4th 2008 10:38AM
You're as funny as fuck, flashpoint.
Well no, actually, you're not. Get off the internet.
blarvh @ Jan 4th 2008 10:16AM
Actually that's a IR camera not a transmitter.
And it looks like the lightsaber is gonna come in the way when you hold it slightly upwards.
michas_pi @ Jan 4th 2008 10:16AM
That's the Lightdagger.
Lightsabers due Q3 2008.

They have finally made lightsabers for Yoda fans!
NHAnimator @ Jan 4th 2008 11:38AM
Mmmmm. Lightsaber Yoda-length. Cut thy enemies down, you will.
nd @ Jan 4th 2008 10:27AM
it's cool and all, but is there a game other than lego star wars that this is used for? i love lego star wars! ...but you dont ever use the remote like a light saber, you use it like a normal remote. unless i'm missing something? it would be sweet to use it like a light saber!
Nikkoli @ Jan 4th 2008 11:02AM
Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga you Swing the Wiimote for your light saber (B works too, but it's not nearly as fun)
chris fredette @ Jan 4th 2008 11:04AM
The Force unleashed will be out before these are. Lego Star Wars wouldn't really use these anyway.
nd @ Jan 4th 2008 12:08PM
"Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga you Swing the Wiimote for your light saber (B works too, but it's not nearly as fun)"
seriously??? oh man, i guess i havent even tried it! wow, good thing it's friday so i can leave early and go home and try it! oh buy, i'll never get any work done now.... :-p
Halfmad @ Jan 4th 2008 10:32AM
I'm pretty sure there's a Star Wars game coming that uses it as a light saber and the nunchuk for force powers.
nd @ Jan 4th 2008 10:51AM
that would be sweet! my little bro and his friend rent rooms in my house, and between the 3 of us we have an xbox, ps2, 360, ps3, a wii and 7 computers :-p lego star wars is seriously my favorite game (unless a group of people comes over, then its wii sports or the like) of all. granted i'm not a hard core gamer by any means, but it's just fun.
i just goolged it and "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" is due out in spring of '08. released by lucas films themselves and uses the wiimote as a light saber. saweet.
Halfmad @ Jan 4th 2008 11:13AM
"The Force Unleashed" is the working title apparently:

Wayne @ Jan 4th 2008 12:39PM
If they can modify "Force Unleashed" for release on the Wii, then they damn well better release it for the PC. The producers told me in 2006 that it was in development for the XBox 360 and PS3 only.
Halfmad @ Jan 4th 2008 1:35PM
It's the age old effect of supply and demand, there's been far more Wiis sold than anyone ever expected!
roberto @ Jan 4th 2008 10:44AM
my light sword is longer than yours....
Joe & Ammie Bradley @ Jan 4th 2008 10:53AM
I think the more accurate quote would have been, "I see you schwartz is a big as mine. But, can you use it?"
KR @ Jan 4th 2008 11:01AM
And the even more accurate quote would be:
"I see your Schwartz is as big as mine! But let's see how well you handle it!"
JC @ Jan 4th 2008 11:03AM
Ah, leave him alone. He's surrounded by a$$holes.
dagwud @ Jan 4th 2008 11:08AM
Two words does not copyright infringement make. It's not enough "copy" to "right". Trademarking is a different issue.
DC Comics has 7 trademarks for "The Dark Knight" in the USPTO's online search. There are also several for "Dark Knight" representing a bicycle company, a cigar, and a band.

When will ppl finally understand that the wiimote is everything but good for realistic lightsaber/sword swinging simulations. The exact horizontal position can not be measured, and unless some smart hacker comes up with a patch and you have sensor bars all around you it never will.
Dood77 @ Jan 4th 2008 1:29PM
Actually it doesn't know the exact location at all, let alone whatever you're thinking 'horizontal' position means. But it does know how its tilted, and how fast its moving, and for how long, so I'd say thats good enough.
And I'm pretty sure having sensor bars all around you would not work at all unless the wiimote would beable to identify each one individually.
mike @ Jan 4th 2008 12:46PM
where's the purple samuel l edition?
jeicrash @ Jan 4th 2008 1:41PM
All of these stupid sleeves are pointless. I don't need a box full of plastic parts laying around. Even the free sleeves from Nintendo where uncomfortable. Someone needs to come out with something a bit more useful. The only thing I have seen so far is the wireless nunchuck adapter.

They should definitely revive the Jedi Knight series just for this.
Bassir @ Jan 4th 2008 5:12PM
I cared fore a few seconds because I thought that it actually was a real light saber in the sense that beams of light come out of that hole in a straight thick line like a real saber using some sort of laser technology or something because it certainly looks that way in the images.
Too bad I've got far too many toy light sabers, and those don't require 40-dollar handles.
ZeroCorpse @ Jan 4th 2008 7:04PM
OMG. If you buy this, I am SO not being seen in public with you.
mrkorb @ Jan 4th 2008 9:24PM
"with ample room for the IR signal to make its way to your console"
Congrats on not understanding how the Wii works. AT ALL.
OneLove @ Jan 5th 2008 5:22PM
No more Wiimote stuff. plz.
