SteveNote Expo game: only you can get Jobs prepped for Macworld keynote
With CES in the books, banners flying up and rumors running rampant, only one thing could be on the horizon: Steve's Macworld 2008 keynote. Unfortunately, it seems he's a bit short on time, and needs you to access a totally awesome web-based game to help round up garb, VIPs and top-secret gear before taking the stage. Okay, so all of that is complete rubbish, but if you've got a moment to kill and can't stop obsessing over next Tuesday, hit the read link and have a laugh.

Somebody got a case of the fanboy.
Sheesh.
Whoever made this is good and shouldn't be wasting their time.
fred @ Jan 12th 2008 1:38PM
Ok, Engadget, you guys did an incredible job at CES. It really turned my opinion of this around quite a bit.
But this is just plain stupid. This seems like an electronic version of those fun mat games you used to get at McDonalds.
We all know there are going to be all types of Apple related stories that you are going to be posting, but try to remember the quality of your CES coverage and keep the fluff down.
Even I want to read some of the coverage but not if it's going to be the quality of this kindergarten trash.

Look. We all know that Apple is currently the golden boy of computer-ish gadgets. Their's might not be the best toys, they might seem oppressive and unwilling to let tinkerers tink, but until some other company can create such a powerful media hype/blitz/image that people with disposable incomes buy into - you're just going to have to sit there and deal with it. Like a big boy. Apple is capitalism maximus.
Chebwa @ Jan 12th 2008 5:53PM
Well, whoever made it is good, but they also know that anything "Apple" will create a fanboy frenzy. If this shitty game was about anything besides Steve Jobs, Engadget definitely would not have posted it, would they?
It's sad. Really sad. But true.
absurdio @ Jan 12th 2008 9:50PM
@Fred
Okay. This wasn't news, really. It probably didn't enrich anybody's life to know that there's a cheesy Stevenote game. Some people think this stuff is a waste of time, and some people think crapgadget segments are a waste of time. If you prefer oranges, don't bother complaining about the Apples.
Oliver @ Jan 12th 2008 1:29PM
yay! one of the few graphic games playable on a mac!
jk
Argot @ Jan 12th 2008 6:16PM
Don't be like that... There are at least four or five other games! :)
SteveMB @ Jan 12th 2008 6:47PM
Let's see there's Battlefield 2142, Halo 1... Any others?

According to E-TARD, Apple is going out of business in a few years. So, What Apple does now won't matter.

Ha ha ha! The last item is "one more thing".
rlynd3 @ Jan 12th 2008 2:02PM
True, A little too "Fanboyish" but drop your hate and play the game. I thought it was clever and dare i say fun...
jk @ Jan 12th 2008 2:03PM
that Jobs pic looks like "kevin" from Sin City
w @ Jan 12th 2008 2:23PM
*picks notes about blu-ray on the macs*
Mic2000 @ Jan 12th 2008 2:24PM
Well, it kept me going for a while, but no funny reward at the end of the game, to bad
fischju @ Jan 12th 2008 2:30PM
Apparently the person who made that picture has never seen Sin City......*shivers*
kojo87 @ Jan 12th 2008 2:32PM
shouldnt there be a button for stamping "i" in front of everyday words and then patenting that word and making a mediocre product based on that word and charging an ungodly price?
Tamer Brad @ Jan 12th 2008 2:35PM
That was a really absolutely terrible game.
ark_v2 @ Jan 12th 2008 6:45PM
So he was ranked low because of saying the truth? WTF?!
Tamer Brad @ Jan 12th 2008 6:46PM
I think it's funny I've been down-voted, probably by Apple fanboys, when my only computer is a MacBook.
absurdio @ Jan 12th 2008 9:53PM
Heh. I'm a Mac user, too. I voted you up. You were a) funny, and b) right. That was a terrible game.
michael @ Jan 12th 2008 3:11PM
I'm not trying to do Apple hate here, but what's the point to posting a link to a little game about MacWorld? Nothing to do with gadgets or directly with the real MacWorld.
Tad bit ridiculous to me. I hope MacWorld won't turn Engadget into another Gizmodo-like site.
Atanas Boev @ Jan 12th 2008 3:17PM
Why the damn journalists have to walk exactly in the middle of the street?? :)
threedotinc @ Jan 12th 2008 3:51PM
This is funny! nice little marketing piece if I do say so. Now let's work on a partnership with www.3vine.com and our hemp jewelry. We can play a game that helps us pick out which beads to put on and what type of braids to do... nice! "That's actually a good idea!" I'll have my people call your people...
Ellianth @ Jan 12th 2008 4:34PM
$10 says apple sends lawyers after the author of the game. The game was better than I expected.
ethana2 @ Jan 12th 2008 4:48PM
Would he explode if someone loudly started up an Ubuntu laptop at macworld? Would they get lynched?
...that'd be a fun addition to the game :) Kill the linux user before he starts sanctifying non-Apple hardware!
Mark @ Jan 12th 2008 6:10PM
Can we get some sort of "Veronica Belmont at MacWorld" game?
enric @ Jan 12th 2008 6:15PM

Have a sense of humour apple bashers.
We all had a good laugh at that video of bill gates last week
~TheVault~ @ Jan 12th 2008 9:05PM
I noticed when playing the game, you had to go find things. Well that made me believe of what was possibly going to be in the Keynote which I may be wrong but thats what I thinking. Funny game to btw.
High Def Man @ Jan 12th 2008 9:05PM
Wow, how lame hehe. The saddest part is someone spent their time making that.
XGM @ Jan 12th 2008 11:39PM
Atleast nobody has made one for Bill Gates and his keynote next year.
ROFLMAO XD
Andrew Horn @ Jan 13th 2008 2:34AM

alamode @ Jan 13th 2008 4:04AM
Funniest thing is, you could play it on windows mobile but not an iPhone.
Michael @ Jan 13th 2008 8:38AM
Jamiroquai had a game similar to this. Similar in the fact that it was flash-based.
