this is good but ill go and buy macbook pro i get store discount.half off so i will only be paying 800$ for a 1600$ pc .the macair is not worth 2000 $ .apple never included tax also .so they should remember where the tax is .
Big disappointment. OK, there's a market for AIR, but what about an update for serious laptop users who have seen the PowerBook G4 become the MacBook Pro with hardly more than a change of processor in 6 years?
very impressed with the new Air aesthetics but just can't justify $1800 for those specs. Any guesses as to when apple will update the macbook and MBPs? now that my dell is on its last legs i was hoping to make the jump to mac after this macworld expo but now i will wait and see.... (i would really love to see a built in finger print reader too)
Steve Jobs tried to convince me or us that an 11"inch screen is bad because the keyboard would be smaller?!?!
WTF STEVE!!! THATS ALL I WANTED!
thats what ultra portable is! the eepc is "Ultra Portable" and if the keyboard is to small then wtf are you doing selling an iphone with a fake and very small keyboard?
this should file under as "The biggest let down of 2008"
the only REAL DESKTOP (AND UPGRADEABLE) computer is Mac Pro... iMac counts as a notebook, it's just got a bigger screen.. shrink the size and make the price higher...WTF IS THE POINT??? Spend some 2000 bucks and show off..? that's for those rich people..
oh yeah, and...uh...Mr.Jobs, you do realize that most people age 13+ can pretty much handle a 5 lb notebook? not to mention business people...
With the introduction of the Macbook air, how much can we expect the price of the current Macbooks to drop? Does anyone have any info on that? I'm interested in getting one, but I will wait a little while longer if the price is expected to drop.
I think almost every1 is missing the point here. Apple´s intentions are creating a new type of category in their offering, the sub-notebook. Its audience is clearly not video edition nor gaming, this is designed for business and personal use like email ,chat, browsing etc. For people who travel with a lot of stuff and want a computer that is comfortable to take and powerful enough for basic things. The Macbook and the Pro are in different categories and will see improvements during the year. Meanwhile ill wait a couple of months and get my new Air :)
13.33" is way too big for a bag machine.
11.1" WS or 12" would have ruled.
Axel
But doesn't the MacBook do all that. It's thinner: so what? Anyway, it's just email, chat and net, what's wrong with a EeePC?
Much cheaper and smaller.
The study of 7,500 respondents, also revealed that people who buy Macs are " less modest, and more assured of their own superiority than the population at large." Quelle surprise!
