HTC Shift hits the FCC, gets ripped apart
It's been hit with a few snags along the way, but it looks like the HTC Shift's slow roll out around the word is finally nearing a close, with it now making its expected debut at the FCC. In addition to putting it through all the usual tests, they of course also ripped the thing apart and, thankfully, provided of pictures of the process (hit up the link below for more). Prospective Shift buyers can also take advantage of the FCC's generosity to check out the device's user manual, although there aren't exactly many surprises to be found, considering how long this thing's been around already.

wouldn't it be funny if the title says "HTC shit hits the FAN"?
HTC should start making their "old" products work before releasing new ones
http://www.htcclassaction.org/ ftw
they forgot strtrk 8500,Qtek branded should count.
no, because this deals with video drivers and the qualcomm 7200 and 7500 chipsets
Doesn't the phone part of the shift use the 7200a too?
I'm just glad they finally got their "shift" together.
I'm in Vista Business, I'm back in Pocket PC. I'm back in Vista, I'm back in Pocket PC, I'm back in Vista . . .
Sometimes, when I'm tired of course ever spelling and grammar mistake sticks out like a sore thumb. Is there a link to somewhere on this site where I can make the tiny little mistakes known to the writers so I don't have to call them out in the comment sections for their typos that obviously aren't that big most of the time, but considering how many people read this site it would look better if they didn't have the same grammatical errors all over their site.
I think you mean:
"Sometimes, when I'm tired of course EVERY spelling and grammar mistake sticks out like a sore thumb."
Just thought you might like to know considering how many people read this site.
Did you mean "every" as opposed to "ever"? I'm just saying.
I meant what I said. The errors were on purpose. Look at the post by Mr. Melanson and compare the styles. I guess I was too subtle. BTW, you two missed a few.
My question is if this thing has actual phone functions (in which case i'll buy), will eventually come with wimax (in which case i'll buy), or is just an overpriced eee competitor (hopefully not).
The Shift is not a phone. You cannot call people with it.
They should sell it as a kit for half the price. Let the home-brew boys do their thing.
Yeah, the "F" is still silent.
