$350 for the Classmate? You could put down $500 and get a real laptop. Got a Compaq, new-in-box, over Xmas and its much better then those things. Don't see the point in putting down that much money for something that looks like crap.
The UMPC looks kind cool though. Wish it was a couple hundred cheaper, and it might be a good idea. At least that one doesn't kill the eyes to look at.

The Classmate isn't really for consumers. It's more for developing countries, and its specs are not so great. The UMPC is niche unless its price tag is low.
The EEEPC is the only UMPC/MID to hit the right note so far. The advantage to this category of devices is they are small, light, and cheap. They can do basic tasks without costing a fortune (Sony TZ), and are ultraportable.

i really hate that ASUS didnt started shipping EEE PC to Portugal yet...indeed sucks...
