MacBook Air shipments beginning for the earliest adopters
If you were prepared to snap up whatever ultraportable Steve Jobs threw at you during his Macworld keynote, and started frantically refreshing the Apple Store to buy the MacBook Air as soon as it was announced, you might be seeing a shipping notice from Apple in your inbox pretty soon. Reports are coming in from early adopters that their MacBook Airs are on the way, with some projected arrivals as early as February 1st -- pretty much right on target for Apple's projected two week wait. The rest of you suckers who dilly dallied in your purchasing decision might have to wait a bit longer, and potentially be subject to the humiliation of the laptop hitting stores before it arrives on your doorstep.

I was thinking along the lines of, Sure she's skinny, but that doesn't make her as portable as even a portly midget.
No offense to midgets, it's a feature.
Sorry ^^ that was in reply to the reply in the first comment ^^
Time will tell if the MBA ends up being another "Cube", which in my view was a Steve Jobs wet dream.
Personally I think it will find a market because unlike the Cube, that was sitting on the desk at home, other people will see you as you whip out the MBA in public.
I always find it interesting that some folks think that computers should just be about function....
We are social creatures who tend to like defining our identity through our consumption, computers are no different .
FYI I will not be buying an MBA but definitely have my eye on new MBP upgrade
I wonder why there's an argument over whether the Macbook Air is a laptop or a UMPC. It's neither. It's a notebook computer. And so are all those things most people call laptop computers.
