For those of you too cheap to pony up for that $700,000 diamond-encrusted
Jupiter desktop we saw yesterday, China's Eazo is willing to throw down the luxe for less than a tenth of the price -- which still means the X70, pictured here, stil costs $45,500, but hey. The distinctive machine features a 3GHz Q9550 Core 2 Quad, two NVIDIA 8800GTX graphics cards, 4GB of RAM, light-up liquid cooling, a 10,000rpm 150GB drive backed up by a 7,200rpm 500GB drive, 7.1-channel sound, and Vista Ultimate, all wrapped up in an easy-access case with pneumatic door hinges. Of course, you can custom-configure systems well past the $70K mark (and down to just $9K), but if you're not happy with this stock config, you might want to try yoga or something, Mr. Power Hungry. Check a bunch more shots in the gallery.

And I'd say this machine is worth a lot more than the Jupiter... at least the specs are x10 better.
David @ Jan 31st 2008 3:36AM
I don't know... I can probably get this made for two dollars.
hanalex @ Jan 31st 2008 3:42AM
for $45,000 this thing should be high quality enough to not contain any lead poisoning.
LordFarkward @ Jan 31st 2008 4:20AM
lead is for t3h sux0rs
this thing is so cool that it's made of solidified mercury. you'll die from mercury poisoning instead, but it's all worth it.
Richard @ Jan 31st 2008 3:50AM
For that kind of coin, it better have come with the Optimus Prime keyboard.
Brian @ Jan 31st 2008 3:52AM
I can't find the website for this rig... can anyone track it down?
Alijah @ Jan 31st 2008 4:55AM
...Optimus Prime?
You mean Optimus Maximus.... you winner... you
JosephMohmed @ Jan 31st 2008 8:08AM
I'd rather have an Optimus Prime keyboard.
webon @ Jan 31st 2008 3:54AM
this must play doom
Michael LaFramboise @ Jan 31st 2008 4:08AM
Doom? of course, but the real question is can it run Crysis?
Zeus.:God @ Jan 31st 2008 9:47AM
Micheal, you must not get it.

So this system has, at most, $3,000 worth of hardware in it. This makes that dumb ass hinged case worth $42,500? You could get a talented case maker to build you a case like that for probably a few thousand. It's amazing to me that people with enough money to buy something like this don't have enough sense not to.
me @ Jan 31st 2008 4:29AM
amen jivetrky. I can't believe it took 11 comments for someone to finally say it.
Eh @ Jan 31st 2008 5:49AM
I would be surprised if they ever sold a single one, or plan on selling any. What would not surprise me is if this is just a publicity stunt. That crazy price got them on engadget and now more people know who the hell Eazo is.
mark lee @ Jan 31st 2008 2:30PM
That's right, I'm sure it's all for the publicity. Engadget shouldn't even report this.
Companies like this make me sick!
Paris @ Jan 31st 2008 4:53AM
All that money and they don't even bother to include a SSD? I would have expected an 128GB SSD in place of the 150GB HDD.
miguel @ Jan 31st 2008 5:04AM
WHAT!!?? no Optimus Maximus keyboard?!?!?
romanzy @ Jan 31st 2008 5:36AM
It enervates me a lot when the guys from Engadget write about a product and don't provide the URL of the product/company.
Here is the link of Eazo http://eazo.com.cn/produce.html
JosephMohmed @ Jan 31st 2008 8:39AM
thanks, I'm totally gonna buy one now.
Ethren @ Jan 31st 2008 5:46AM
Wait.. what??!?! How'd they get a Q9550 processor?? I've been waiting for months for the new Yorkfields. Have they been released?
BlissX @ Jan 31st 2008 6:12AM
It's actually a Q6700 with a piece of paper taped to it saying Q9550.
Mark Simmons @ Jan 31st 2008 9:57AM
This is an interesting piece of kit and looks neat but the price point is kind of crazy.
DvS @ Jan 31st 2008 10:07AM
That's dumb.
chris @ Jan 31st 2008 10:21AM
Seems powerful,it's big-boss's thing.
MMalecky @ Jan 31st 2008 11:09AM
Oh god, just read the descriptions in the gallery.

Peter @ Jan 31st 2008 3:29PM
Yeah, this thing definitely plays Doom - on your wallet.
Well, the good thing is that at this profit margin it only takes one or two dumb customers and those Eazo people could have a lazy chinese life for a couple of years...
For this kind of bogus price you can probably have someone carve you a PC out of a steel block. Probably even with his bare hands.
OneLove @ Jan 31st 2008 3:41PM
Are you kidding? It would have to come with free hardware upgrades for life and hot tech support chicks in tight outfits!
