Logitech's MX Revolution goes Bluetooth at the FCC
If you've been holding off on Logitech's budget-busting MX Revolution in hopes of a Bluetooth version, your time may well be at hand. The FCC just gave the stamp of approval (way to keep down those "spurious signals," Logitech) to a certain M-RCL124 model of Bluetooth mouse that appears to be an exact replica of the MX Revolution in shape and buttonry. Obviously we've got nothing as far as price or release date, but we're hoping for "soon" and "less than our next paycheck."

I would think they'll probably release a bluetooth VX at the same time which I hope they do. I've been using a VX Revolution for the past year and it's been absolutely fantastic. If they made a BT version I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
This sucks... I have mine and now I want the bluetooth version... Could they provide an "upgrade path"? :)
Or I might go back and buy a G5 like I had before (and loved it!)
My MX Revolution has gone back to Amazon because they sold me a faulty one... so in the 40 days it takes for them to see if there's a problem (There's obviously one as I'm certainly not going back to my Mighty Mouse for fun!), I hope Logitech releases this, Amazon declares my mouse unrepairable and they give me a refund so I can buy this! I personally don't mind about the dongle but I don't want one if I don't need one!
Is it possible that this is the first mouse with ultra low power bluetooth?
I know logitechs main supplier of rf chips is involved with the new technology that is supposed to come out this year.
It was called wibree before joining up with bluetooth.
You silly people dont know how unbelievably horrible Logitech Bluetooth mice are. And if you think youre going to use a Logitech bluetooth device without a huge USB dongle then think again. Their bluetooth is proprietary and their drivers only work with the provided crappy dongle. Reconnecting the devices is hell since the drivers are so bad, on average it takes me 15 minutes of restarts and reinstalls until it finally sees the mouse. Logitech bluetooth mice are NOT for laptops since they arent made to work with normal bluetooth, they need bigger dongles than the RF mice.
My MX1000 Bluetooth is the WORST mouse I have ever owned. It has extreme lag where the cursor just starts drifting in slow motion all over the place, it is 100% impossible to keep the dongle connected to the metal case without severe signal interference, I need to keep it connected to the monitor which also causes intereference. Its just a horrible HORRIBLE mouse that is completely unuseable in most environments. Forum posts on their website are full of people who cant use bluetooth because of extreme lag. If there was ever a class action lawsuit against this garbage I would be the first to sign. I had an old RF MX1000 before it which was amazing and had perfect signal quality.
I disagree - I have a VX400 or whatever their latest bluetooth mouse is and there it works great with my macbook without a usb dongle. Ive got a MX rev right now for my desktop and I love it - I would definitley spring for the bluetooth version over the wireless mightly mouse I have now - its OK - but definitley not as fast as a MX revolution.
logitech gets 1 internets!
Makes sense, last I knew that was the mouse thats supposed to come with the MX5500. The MX5500 is supposed to be bluetooth, just like the MX5000 is.
I love my MX5000.
Please make the VX Revolution have a BT2.0 connection as well!
