Apple store is down: 16GB iPhone imminent?

Listen up pilgrims. It's Apple's favorite product launch day -- Tuesday -- and we're once again sitting on a pile of rumors. So what's it going to be? A 16GB bump to the iPhone, new MacBook Pros running Intel's latest mobile Penryn processor with enhanced multi-touch touchpad, or maybe a few more countries added to the iPhone rollout in Europe? Who knows. Really, anyone know?

Amazing how Apple can spin their site beign down all the time as a good thing. I update sites all the time without taking them down. How is it the supposed brain trust at apple is so friggin lame they can't manage an online store modification and a few crappy flash animations to update seemlessly?

Updated Apple it seems, is about to unleash the much-anticipated 16GB version of the iPhone across the UK today. Rumours bounding around today have been confirmed and it will go on sale in all UK O2 stores nationwide from 1.30pm.

Also, coming to the states:
The 16GB version, to be priced at £329, would double the memory capacity of the current iPhone, which costs £269.

Update In the US, the new 16GB iPhone will cost for $499, joining the 8GB model for $399. The iPod touch now comes in a 32GB model for $499, joining the 16GB model for $399 and the 8GB model for $299.
