Dell's laptop Penryn updates go global, for a price
Dell's Penryn update has finally made its way around the globe to Gee Dubya land. The XPS M1330 is at the front of the queue with $400, 2.5GHz T9300 or $675, 2.6GHz T9500 processor options above the wimpiest CPU config. Not exactly free but then we don't have to deal with Big Red droppings on the lawn either. We should see the rest of Dell's XPS and Inspiron laptops go Penryn before the day is done.

Not available in Norway either.
Maybe the Blu Ray drive will be introduced this
week as well.

From what I discovered, Canada was better prices Then U-S.
For example the Latitude XT in the U.S is 2500$ but starts with the Intel Solo CPU.
Then in Canada, we start (for the same price) at the Dual Core model.

$850 for 64GB SSD. Not bad.
Jeroen @ Feb 7th 2008 9:26AM
Still, for that kind of money you also can buy 3x 1TB HDD..

what a rip-off...

Yea I know, but see if I care. Flood the market with these chips and their "cutting-edge" price, and in alot of cases, that will trigger a drop in price of completely able machines.

Does this mean we will see a price drop on their configurable processor in the coming months? Been looking at getting a 15.4" XPS sometime in May and now they are teasing me with even better processors.

Why wouldn't they have the Penryn available in the (product)RED XPS M1330? Yet, they have it in the (product)RED M1530. Why would this be?
Jeremy W @ Feb 7th 2008 9:56AM
I'm sure it'll get there eventually. Probably later today.
Ethren @ Feb 7th 2008 10:20AM
Now if they'd only update the M1330's anemic VGA options...
L.Rawlins @ Feb 7th 2008 10:33AM
'Available in America' is not 'global', and neither is Penryn... yet.

Great maybe this will encourage Apple to roll out new MacBook Pros! The prices of this machine aren't too bad. I still want to wait to see what the new MBP's are like before making the decision on my next machine.
Mike_UK @ Feb 7th 2008 1:57PM
Anyone know when this is gonna show up in the UK?
Ry @ Feb 7th 2008 3:04PM
what a rip-off...

I think the article should be Updated.
