Apple posts Apple TV take 2 Guided Tour
Apple isn't one to let a new product out the door without a video guided tour lately, and today's release of the Apple TV take 2 update is no exception. Nothing too shocking in the walkthrough of iTunes rentals and the new Flickr features -- when will Apple learn that all we really want is some hardcore settings menu action? -- but fans of The Anonymous iPhone Guy and John, The Classy Leopard Dude will be disappointed to see that they've been replaced by Hannah, The Pleasantly Boho Apple TV Lady. Check it out at the read link -- and if you're hungry for some real deets, you know we've got you covered.

The guided tour went up the day of the keynote, it's not new.
Apple, if you're going to try to distract us from not releasing a macbook pro update with ladies, at least use a cuter apple tv lady. :/
What are you talking about! Hanna is the uber hottie! More Hanna, less product distraction.
:j
Or John. I could get lost in those eyes . . .
. . . in, uh, a totally straight way.
*AHEM*
What distracted me was the final album cover near the end of the movie. If I'm not mistaken, the Magical Mystery Tour barely creeps around the corner.
Steve, either seal the deal, or stop teasing.
Dude, must there always be some commenting D-bag?
Eric, it's people like you and Jake that make me want to view the comments in threads with a girl in the picture.
Jake, you took the words right out of my mouth . . . is it too much to ask for?
The Pleasantly Boho Apple TV Lady should have been Veronica Belmont. Then I would see that guided tour.
She is kind of cute
she looks a lot like the "female" bartender from Shrek 3...
Um, this has been up since MacWorld.
Get on the ball, sheesh. Heh.
Big Ass Yawn
I think she cuts her own hair, possibly with those safety scissors they give you in primary school art class.
You know, I bet you don't have the best haircut in the world...
I'd be the first to admit that. :)
Anybody finds those rental prices a bit too high.
After Netflix and Redbox, I have no concept of paying more than a buck to rent a flick.
Take 2 made my Apple TV think it's not "authorized" to play any of the content i purchased on iTunes.
...and i've done every bit of troubleshooting anyone can come up with.
where's THAT in this guided tour?
Not only has it been up, but I've since re-cut and parodied it and sent you the link on your tip form! lol

okay, whatever you guys say, i think she's really good looking...
anyway, was that the beatles magical mystery tour i saw as she was showing the music feature??
I can't believe they expect me to run sub par high def for $4.99 a rental. I'd rather wait for the mail, thank you.
Yeah, been there done that. I thought this was a tech blog? Reporting on something over a month old on a tech blog, is like a car blog reporting on the brand new Ford Model T.
I had to look up "boho".
They should've gotten that chick who does the Mercury commercials to do it... orrrrr
BRING BACK ELLEN FEISS! Dude, if you order Matrix, I'll bring a pizza over and we'll do mad bong rips until he takes that pill
The Mercury girl's name is Jill Wagner. I would buy "poop on a stick" if she were selling it.
Is it really called appletv take 2. It seems like apple's saying "hey, apparently it sucked the first time so here's a completely different version, hope you like, if not we've got a few more ways for you to waste your money."
OH, what a missed opportunity, Apple.
You could have had ALL of us swooning at both the product and the presenter had you only hired
VERONICA BELMONT.
Perhaps the next laptop could be named BelMont Pro...
She could use a little more product on her air. The ends are killing me.
I'm diggin the internet radio streaming. Very cool.
http://digg.com/apple/Stream_Internet_Radio_to_your_Apple_TV
Geeky techno from my desktop streaming to my plasma surround in my theater room. Heaven.
I would like to point out a few things:
1. This was posted the day of the Macworld Keynote
2. She's kind of cute but she sounds like she's talking through her nose and her nose is clogged. It makes my eyes water to listen to her because I just want her to blow her nose.
3. I honestly don't believe the rental price nor time-frame are Apple's decision. Look at Pay-Per-View on any cable or satellite provider, they're of equal limit and price. And then look at the Xbox 360 video download service. 14 days to have it on your machine and 24 hours after you hit play. You ask me, I say the movie industry execs are acting like a bunch of pricks. What better scenario for them than for you to have to keep on renting. They are really, really, really evil.
I think if it came down to all-or-nothing fight between the MPAA and the RIAA, the MPAA would rip the throat out of the RIAA and piss down every consumer's throat.
Just a thought.
"They are really, really, really evil."
You really think that, don't you? It must be great to see things in black and white.
Look at their industry and try to understand their side: They're watching their business model shrivel and die. They're being taken down by infighting. They're seeing a lot of investment money go into other industries. At the same time they're all responsible to their investors to maintain an annual 5% growth, come hell or high water. And it isn't because they don't WANT you to watch their movie, it's because if they're seen as giving something away that should be paid for, they'd lose their job and some other exec would be tossed in to tow the party line.
So don't be shocked that a large industry is resistant to the kind of change that would cut a lot of people in their industry out of a job. Every industry does this. It's not 'cuz they're "evil" - there's no malice in it - they're just greedy. Totally different.
Yes, I really do believe they are evil. It's as evil as Enron or MCI. Greed and malice are often found hanging out together. Once you get a taste of that power and that financial gain, you find yourself doing things you wouldn't have done before. Evil sets in. And let's not forget every bit of information we have from people on the inside who state over and over and over again that it's one of the most cut-throat industries in the world.
These people in power are so blinded by their greed that they can't even see that the old way of doing business isn't working anymore. If they weren't so greedy, they might actually see that there is a whole new business model awaiting them and they could make consumers very happy by delivering. But they'll do it just like the music industry did it. They'll fight, kicking and screaming, against every attempt to get the content to the consumers until they look around and realize it happened anyway and they destroyed themselves in the process.
She's no Veronica Belmont, but she'll have to do.
Nice clip.... But our friend Hannah from the Apple Store has to see someone else for her Botox... Because the raised eyebrows are extremely un nerving.. Too much tox in the wrong place
Not enough lingerie :(
O MAI ZOMG, WERE IS JON??////
She got a purdy mouf. But yeah... saw it back during Macworld.
HANA is super HAWT!! god, this tour is so enjoyable to watch i want to buy it offer itune. and watch many times.
There is no question about it...
just a question though: does she look like half white/black to you? or is it just me?
She looks like the typical 'can't tell wtf it is' Apple spokes person. Could be a bot for all we know.
MacRumors made this same mistake. I saw a post about this tour saying it was new at about 12am, then a bunch of comments saying "This isn't new!" followed, and at about 12:05am, the post was gone. How did so many people miss the fact that this went up the day of the keynote?
Her smile and right eye reminds me a little bit of Joker from Batman, but otherwise nice.
I mean left eye ;)
Veronica Belmont is played out, she's a Tech Podcast "Whore", get over yourself with your fake smile and amish boy's haircut.
Does anyone know what song is playing durring the flickr demo?
Feist - My Moon, My Man
Whenever I see any of these guided tours in the Apple website being presented by these characters (Hannah, iPhone Guy, or John: The Classy Leopard Dude), I can't help but wonder if Steve is running some sort of clone experiment. Sort of like in the movie The Island. Only difference here is Apple people wear black where as The Island people wore white.
She's kinda cute (but does remind me of Alfred E. Newman for some reason...)
Again, ignoring the childish rants of these pubescent posters, the video is an excellent medium to show to your family members. Specially the older generation. She very clear and concise on how to operate the ATV. Saving the movie and showing to your non-technical or tech fearing family members will quickly melt away their fears and dive into the ATV without hesitation.
The aspect ratio of that Die Hard clip they showed was not even right, look how vertically stretched the picture was. Come on Apple, you can do better than that!
Since the subject comes up quite a bit..."John, the Classy Leopard Dude" is an actual Apple Store employee. In Omaha of all places. I've seen him there twice, on Leopard launch day and just this last weekend. I thought it was weird that he would be in Omaha during the Leopard launch, but then I saw him again. So there you go.
She works at my local apple store in Hoover, AL. She's cuter in person.
dude, that's a dude
Holy crap - it's Triana Orpheus!
