Fujitsu's LifeBook P8010 now available for purchase

For those out there (yes, we know you're out there) who've been refreshing Fujitsu's online webstore like mad just waiting for its cute-as-a-button LifeBook P8010 to become available -- well, we're probably telling you something you're already quite aware of. Nevertheless, we're sure everyone else not totally infatuated with the aforementioned machine (but still keenly interested in it) would love to know that it has indeed escaped from the FCC's lair and is now ready to be shipped to your door. Thankfully, Fujitsu will let you customize it to the hilt, but those looking to get in and out can snap up a low-end configuration for $1,699.

Interesting. It uses a hinge-system similar tot Nokia's E90 (i.e. the metal couplings on each side). And it's indeed packed with ports for its size.

Wrong direction, Fujitsu! My P7120 is 10.28" x 7.83" x 1.26" - about the size of a hardcover book. If I read the specs on the P8010 correctly, its 11.2" x 8.26" x 1.37", close to the size of a standard sheet of paper.

I greatly prefer the "thicker but small" form factor over the "flat and wide" dimensions of the Macbook Air. I'm quite disappointed that the P series is getting wider, the display on mine is just about perfect. I wouldn't mind a smaller bezel and more pixels, but if increasing the screen requires growing the whole beast, I'll pass.

regardless of what this laptop used to be, it has to have the smallest foot print of any 12.1" widescreen laptop out there. I think this is an awesome machine, plus fujitsu makes quality notebooks. I was gonna buy this notebook but HP is sending me a brand new laptop to replace my 4 year old one for free (long story, but the bastards are making me get a 17" model since thats what i originally had).
