LG's 13.3-inch P300 arrives in Europe, Americans beg a little more
As expected, South Koreans got their hands around LG's stylish P300 a good while back, and while Americans just knew it was headed stateside in short order, it looks like Europe has received the nod for second dibs. The LED-backlit 13.3-incher reportedly packs an Intel T8300 processor (yeah, that's Penryn), 3GB of DDR2 RAM, an NVIDIA graphics set, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, dual-layer DVD writer and a couple of USB 2.0 ports to boot. For those already head over heels for the design, you can lay down €1,599 ($2,350) right now to claim your own -- just don't rub it in too much, okay?

Anyone notice that it's got only a single mouse button?
I saw it too... perhaps if you click on one side it is left the other right?
It's a trap! It's a Mac!
A bunch of ASUS laptops do the same thing - it has two "mouse" buttons," but they aren't separated. It's one thin panel that can be depressed on either side.
looks like an xps
For that kind of money I'd want OS X, too. Oops, I guess you'd have to tolerate some Vista with that. Not worth living the nightmare.
Don't feed the trolls!
.. So is this available with other designs?
Super slick!
This expat American living in Vienna will be happy to get one for you! :)
Why not just get a XPS 1330. They look about the same, same features available and probably cheaper too.
I'm sorry -- you're the second one to say that it looks like an XPS, but I really don't see it at all. Not even a little bit. Both have screens that are on a "lid" which has an adjustable angle via a "hinge", but so does every other laptop ever.
better video card and not a dell. ++
Actually, this notebook has an Nvidia 8600, vs 8400 in some other 13.3" laptops like the XPS M1330 and Vaio SZ.
However, this lacks a built in optical drive. But still, an 8600 in a 13.3" is quite impressive.
From LG site specs: "Memory 1GB/2GB DDR2(667MHz, Dual Channel Support, Up to 2GB)
Display 13.3 Graphics NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GS (256MB VRAM, *TurboCache Technology) / NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M GS (128MB VRAM, *TurboCache Technology) HDD 120/160/200/250GB(SATA, 5400rpm)..."
Not "3GB of RAM" only up to 2 and HDD 5400 rpm... just another average laptop - though with stylish look :)
There is a micro laptop on the second picture.
I'm digging it. I'd like to know weight, and I'm concerned that there'll be a 9x00 nv mobile out soon, but I've been craving a good lightweight unit with a real video card for a long time.
pretty sure you can have it now. Check out futureshop :)

I think that this is sexier than the Macbook Air. There, I said it. Strikingly fresh, even a little bit daring with that contrasting lid motif and it's sharp, anglular chassis.
I can't be the only one growing incredibly weary of Apples relentless design brief to turn 'minimalism' into 'the new beige'. If you take the Air as a prime example... that whole mantra has now transcended from the blueprints to the spec. sheets.
This is a great release for the market, and will hopefully spur furthur refreshing designs from rivals. Congratulations LG on a non-OSX notebook well done. (Credit where it's due and all that.)
we actually sell these laptops at my store up here in canada.
great specs. but the one we have on display is pink and black.
the blue one looks a lot better

I ordered one in Germany: Same colour (purple/red) and no fingerprint reader (misinfo on the webpage of my seller) so i sent it back.
The device seemed nice: Silent but powerful cooling vent, average/good display (a bit uneven allocation of light), felt very "quick" (3GB Ram, T8300).
Dislikes: Seemed a bit vulnerable to scratches, no lock for the display to keep it shut.
Cheers
