If you're down with the Walkman line then you probably sat up and took notice to
Sony's new 16GB Bluetooth hotness earlier this morning. Nothing crazy going on here, but we've got a few shots of the NWZ-A726, NWZ-S615F, and all-out NWZ-A829 to lust over (or chide, depending).

jmiday @ Feb 26th 2008 2:31PM
I wish they would come back out with the yellow water-proof(resistant) ones...
Christian @ Feb 26th 2008 2:32PM
Just wondering, I really like sony products but I got drawn on the concept/technology of Samsung's YP2 bluetooth player having the ability to have two headsets and can connect to your mobile phone. Can this thing do it?
tomo @ Feb 27th 2008 9:14AM
i had an old sony (the later version of this one A808 think it was) and i decided to change for YP-P2 and would NEVER go back! amazing device
Anton @ Feb 26th 2008 2:34PM
Cool!
Alan @ Feb 26th 2008 3:15PM
I take it that Sony gave up on forcing a conversion of everything to ATRAC3 before tranferring to the device...that did wonders for the USB MiniDisc players
mike @ Feb 26th 2008 3:40PM
I have had the S616F for almost a month. NO ATRAC!
Jeebus @ Feb 28th 2008 2:23PM
What about FLAC? Any FLAC? No FLAC == no buy
Deniz @ Feb 26th 2008 3:16PM
I like it, I like it a lot!
Jeff @ Feb 26th 2008 3:17PM
Where does the cassette go in?
aahatimy @ Feb 26th 2008 3:26PM
In your mum.
You see it ain't just you who can make shitty and pointless jokes.
Fernando @ Feb 26th 2008 5:07PM
@aahatimy
That's what SHE said!
Loban @ Feb 26th 2008 3:28PM
OLED? Looks nice, but it's a Sony so I'm sure it'll be way overpriced.
EddieW @ Feb 26th 2008 3:32PM
Hmmmm, sounds like certain fruit company we all love (and for some of us, to hate).
Seriously tho, Sony usually makes awsome hardware (PSP, PS3) and crap software support (PSP, PS3).
frozo @ Feb 26th 2008 3:40PM
That is pretty damn fugly.
Jack @ Feb 26th 2008 3:54PM
i own one of these, 4 gb model w/o bluetooth.
do apple fan boys know tht other manufacturers let their users drag n drop files using jus explorer to transfer files :) oh and add to tht an fm transmitter, and 10 pounds off price - sheep-honestly :)
3monkies @ Feb 26th 2008 4:12PM
You sir, are an ass… honestly.
Chris @ Feb 26th 2008 5:00PM
Oh man I had to reply to this one.
So you like to drag and drop your music from Explorer onto a device? Great. Let's say you have a modest library, 3000+ tracks. How do you choose which tracks to drag and drop onto your device? Do you usually have a few "favorite" albums you throw on there? Maybe you drag and drop your latest downloads or purchases? That's awesome. So you do a lot of work to get your music onto your player.
I use a piece of software that intelligently updates my playlists with songs I haven't listened to in a while, songs that are marked as favorites, and songs that have been recently purchased. But I don't drag and drop shit because computers are made to help with efficiency. I took 15 minutes setting up these Smart Playlists and now all I do is plug in my device, it auto-updates with everything I need, and I unplug it.
How is drag and drop any different than filling your 10-disc CD changer with CDs?
bertbusdriver @ Feb 26th 2008 5:22PM
you can also sync the newer sony walkmans with WMP 11 or some other software if you don't want to drag and drop.
corystal @ Feb 26th 2008 5:48PM
Yup.. options. I like deciding for myself what works best for me and in which situations.
comp2 @ Feb 26th 2008 8:11PM
Its hilarious. I remember when the same asshole comments were coming out of the mouths of Apple customers. Now being ANTI apple is the counter-culture teen thing to do. Love it.
Yeah okay, guess what bud. You're all sheep.
3monkies @ Feb 26th 2008 4:02PM
…and a new easy to remember model name!!!
Mark @ Feb 26th 2008 4:05PM
2.4" LCD is just way too small when even the Chinese players have 2.8" and 3" wide screens.
bertbusdriver @ Feb 26th 2008 5:27PM
Part of the appeal of flash players is that they are smaller.
At this point, I would really like to see Sony come out with a competent movie downloading service (think about how big their movie library is) and a nice HD (160 GB anyone?) based PMP with a 3 or 4 inch screen. O and to repent for many years of ATRAC, perhaps a wide range of video codec support to try and beat out Cowon, the king of codec support.
nathan.wong @ Feb 26th 2008 4:05PM
Ah, tactile buttons we can actually operate and use without even looking at the unit. That's one of the reasons why I love Sony units. OLED is another. Ability to change batteries another and the ability to delete things on the fly is yet another.
dead7ree @ Feb 26th 2008 5:46PM
Eh... both NWZ-S710 and NWZ-S820 series are using LCD... so I am not following why there are some comments about OLED.
Genjinaro @ Feb 26th 2008 8:03PM
I bought my mom the non bt/4GB version this past x-mas, she loves it.
Oh & it did blend BTW, w/Shure SE 310s' very well.
corystal @ Feb 27th 2008 12:17AM
meh, looks slick enough... I used to be a loyal sony fanboy back when the standard for memory cards was still up in the air. Now, it's "give me micro SD or give your gadget death!" Being married to a manufacter makes me feel too dirty and icky.
feinburgrl @ Feb 27th 2008 7:24AM
Looks like a Zune 2.0
Jack @ Feb 28th 2008 5:42AM
