Wii FreeLoader gives you region-free gaming without the mods
This one has been in the works for a while, but it looks like you can finally pick up your very own region-free enabler for the Wii for $19.99. Wii FreeLoader allows you to play any GameCube or Wii game from any region on your Wii. You just stick the FreeLoader disc into the console, let it spin up, eject the disc and stick in your title of choice -- like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, for instance, or some cooking-related title. Since there's no hardware modding required, this one theoretically won't void your warranty, but who's to say how Nintendo will treat you if you somehow break your Wii with it, and there's always the fear that Nintendo will hit your Wii with a mandatory software update that breaks FreeLoader, so proceed with caution. Or don't, so much confusing entertainment awaits you!

I understand the last update from nintendo on the Wii just made the GC freeloader useless.
My question is, those the new Freeloader is useless as well, or maybe this one does work anyway?
wow, this is already available at the renchi import game store - http://www.renchi.com/renchi/AdvanceSearchResult?searchMode=simple&showPicture=Y&productname=*freeloader*&x=15&y=11
I just got Wii Freeloader and tried to use it with Japan version of Wii Fit. after couple attempts, no luck.... will keep trying. if anyone has any luck with this (or not) please post.
OK... Got Wii FreeLoader to work with Japanese Wii Fit. Several steps...
- i had to do a system upgrade on my Wii (from v2.2, i think to v3.2), before the upgrade it got as far as showing the Wii Fit disc graphic on the menu, but wouldn't load. Not sure if future versions will block Freeloader.
- after that, i did the "Alternative Method" specified on the FreeLoader instruction sheet, which was to insert the freeloader disc twice before putting in the game disc
- This time, a game update graphic showed up instead of the Wii Fit graphic. (some games requires you to run an update before the game can be played. FreeLoader warns you about these, but what the heck, i ran it. )
- you need to power off and power back on the Wii, and put in the FreeLoader disc before loading your game again. this time, it worked!
- After half an hour of trying to decipher japanese instructions on Wii Fit.... i switched back to another game and everything seems to by running fine.
Hope this helps anyone trying to do same.
