if you open up your laptop battery, the inside looks like a series of double A batteries.
and those AA may very well contain a string of "coin" shaped ones...
Those aren't AA batteries, they're lithium-ion cells, about 50% larger than a AA, it's what you'll find inside most laptop batteries.
Super small laptops contain flat rectangular lithium polymer batteries but the round cells are considerably cheaper still.
