The precision and latitude laptops are supposed to be for business use, and are designed to look alright but still business oriented.
The Inspiron and XPS are the consumer laptops
Well I got a D830 and I didn't buy it for the looks.
I did buy it for the 1920x1200 15,4 inch screen and the 8 hour battery life it has with a D-bay battery fitted.
