Wow. At this point their prices must be down in the dumps with no-name upscaling DVD players. I suppose in that capacity they are useful for something.
So they're finally going to match Amazon's standard prices... ;)
Trifecta!!
Suggest HD-DVD fans go to BB find their favorite titles and go hide them inside the store and wait for the prices to go down. When they get to 75% off go find them and check out. Was told this approach was common amongst BB personnel, why let them have all the fun?
Hiding players in the box will prove challenging.
I suggest you put them right behind any DVD copies of "Ishtar".
I can confirm the global 30% off HD-DVDs in the Twin Cities. I was in there yesterday.
By the way, there are deals still to be had on bluray discs. Just have to be a little more creative. For example, yesterday I went in with my $5 off any blu-ray disc manufacturer coupon good for all of March at BB. They were handing them out I guess last month and are posted online. With that coupon and the blu-ray sale at circuitcity.com, I pricematched The Rookie for $19.99, used the $5 coupon for $14.99. The Rookie also contains a $10 mail-in rebate for DVD owners, so after cashing that in, it'll cost me $4.99.
@ ccweens,
Sad, but true. Last week, I found 3 titles behind my BB's last Toshiba HD-A35 display model (of all things, right?). I decided to leave them there, thinking the same thing -- wait until they hit rock bottom.
I was at my local Virgin Megastore and all of the HD-DVDs were 50% off. An even better deal (at least for now)!!
Wow, 30%. Be still my heart. Not a huge loss for good old BB since they are marked up way more than that to begin with. Amazon has been 50% or more for several weeks now.
% off is always irrelevant. any percent off "too freakin expensive" is still "too expensive".
Why not hit us with some ACTUAL prices?
30% off at BB is NOT a fire sale.
don't use that term til they start selling disc at $10 or less.
meh, amazon has been running a 55% off sale for a number of titles for a while now.
Also..they have Betamax on sale.
Ha Ha Ron!!! A Betamax/HD DVD joke! How brilliant!
