Conjunction junction, what is your function?
Thousands of users, millions of page views, and they often manage to slip in one mistake or two in a four-line post. Good, Engadget, good.
Man is it really going to take that long to put Montevina into ultraportables?! I need to get a tablet for college next year and I don't want to have to go a couple months without one...
Mehhh, I have to wait for my next ultraportable that long? :'(
BTW isn't there supposed to be a 1.4GHz ULV out by that time?
My MacBook Pro and MacBook Air make all of that irrelevant. ;-)
BTW, is "Essential" a euphymism for "cheap"?
We just standardised on all of our D-series models so we can keep a consistant set of drivers & image builds! Sales get D630s, Developers get D830s, and roadwarriors get D430s, and we just brought a load of Latitude Notebook Stands and port replicators for everyone. Now we hard the E-series won't be compatible with the stands or port replicators :-( I believe thats called 'sods law'!
Wonder what the differences are between the E5K's and E6K's...? Other than the AMD option for the 5's and the ATG option for the 6's... Screen sizes are the same and they both are running Montevina when they're Intel...
I got to see a prototype 14" E series not long ago. They look promising.
Coincides with our fiscal start and new budgets. Sweet, E-series, here I come.
I wonder if they'll be compatible with the D-Series docking stations? I have a ton of them and they're cheap on eBay.
I have heard that they are not compatible with the D docks, stands or replicators.
There will be an adapter that you can use for the docking station/replicator, but not sure on the price.
This is *EXTREMELY* disappointing. All the way till September until ultraportable E is released? And this is just a roadmap, meaning it's more likely to be coming in November at best? After dropping hints over 2 months ago in the middle of competitor's launch? Sorry Dell, now I won't buy your laptop on principle. Time to look at Asus, Toshiba and Sony more closely.
I assume the AMD versions will be Puma based?
Okay all nice and dandy...BUT...what about...
Plans for the XPS 13" and 15"
AND more importantly whatever happened to the "reported" new laptop featuring 16:9 display? :(
I guess I'll have to wait until Sep07 for the D430 replacement.
unfortunately its already 2008
very important is to inherit D-series docking.
