Microsoft's Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000: now in more delicious hues
Aside from shamelessly tooting its own horn, Microsoft is proudly announcing that the "number one best-selling notebook mouse in the US" now comes in five more adorable hues. The special edition Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 will be available in Pomegranate (red), Dragon fruit (dark pink), Aloe (green), Milk chocolate (brown) and Creme brulee (khaki), all of which sound entirely more delicious than attractive. Nevertheless, the world famous travel critter will otherwise remain unchanged and should hit Best Buy stores in May (everywhere else in June, Engadget store notwithstanding) for $29.95.

T-Mobile vs. Microsoft
Ready?
FIGHT!
Aguiluz @ Apr 8th 2008 7:46PM
Hey look, It's the one I use! Except that it's color black.
Works well while gaming. And Browsing on Engadget and the internet.
Lein @ Apr 8th 2008 7:50PM
I like my Wireless Optical Mouse 8000 with its brushed aluminum, but more importantly: bluetooth. Shame these don't share that feature.
Aguiluz @ Apr 8th 2008 8:10PM
That because the 8000 costs more.
Les @ Apr 8th 2008 10:01PM
I like my 5000
w/ bluetooth and laser for 50$
Chino B @ Apr 8th 2008 7:50PM
MMmmmmmm wireless mouse...
mykie @ Apr 8th 2008 8:12PM
Double fuck!
I just spent $45 on one of these in ugly pearl white and I could have had a pretty green one to match my laptop?
Err sorry..."Aloe."
Oh wait, no bluetooth? nevermind...
Reid @ Apr 8th 2008 8:23PM
The headline should ready "Microsoft's Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000: now in more hues"
phanbouy @ Apr 8th 2008 8:42PM
that reminds me of an old SNL News bit w/Norm MacDonald:
"#1 in the charts this week is Better than Ezra. Coming in at #2: ... Ezra".
Nohone @ Apr 8th 2008 8:49PM
Nope, it was correct the first time.
phanbouy @ Apr 8th 2008 8:53PM
riiiight. cuz when i think "delicious" i think aloe. yep.
m-p{3} @ Apr 8th 2008 9:04PM
I'd choose the Chocolate Milk mouse all the way if it was Bluetooth-enabled to match the Dell Inspiron Espresso Brown.
kookoobirdz @ Apr 8th 2008 9:28PM
This is like having a story about new placemats. "Now in green!" Stop the presses!
andres @ Apr 8th 2008 11:52PM
holy shit, where!
iruka @ Apr 8th 2008 9:34PM
What?! No blueberry?
Jubei @ Apr 8th 2008 10:29PM
It's wonderful to see where those billions of dollars in R&D are being spent on. Zune sales must have increased their budget in order to develop these new colored optical mouse. It is Tuesday after all. Perhaps MS is emulating Apple in announcing products every Tuesday. LOL
andres @ Apr 8th 2008 11:53PM
what?
Dean @ Apr 9th 2008 12:43AM
yeah, because there was obviously an R&D team working to change the color of the shell on the mouse....
Shunnabunich @ Apr 9th 2008 5:45AM
Are you kidding? This is Microsoft we're talking about; this was probably borne of a boardroom full of screaming designers and managers after about four weeks. But at least they didn't get the same guy who picked Zune colours to do these mice. :)
Quikboy @ Apr 8th 2008 10:45PM
I like how these mice seem small, nice, and very portable. Though I wish there were a more masculine color, instead of these pastel-like hues.
I might get one of these for my girlfriend.
phanbouy @ Apr 8th 2008 11:32PM
this is your girlfriend. i told you i wanted that crapgadget angel phone! WTF?!
Ken @ Apr 9th 2008 9:52AM
Don't bother. Spend the extra cash and get the VX Nano. Optical wireless mice are stupid. Laser mice are much more accurate and last 6-12 months on two AAA's.
Ken @ Apr 9th 2008 9:54AM
Besides, Microsoft's mice suck! They have worse tactile response than mice half their price.
NoelSM @ Apr 9th 2008 3:20AM
Im all for having options but with no bluetooth this mouse is dead in the water.
Taylor @ Apr 9th 2008 2:47AM
I have the wired version of this mouse. Blue.
I highly recommend them, even if you are a Mac user - I use it with both my MacBook and my Desktop PC (Vista).
Chase @ May 2nd 2008 9:40PM
I am quite happy with my Razer Diamondback. I don't think I would want to do any computing with a mouse labeled "Creme Brulee"
