Samsung set to release Aura R410 14-inch laptop
Samsung hasn't exactly been flooding the market with its Aura laptops since it kicked off the line last year, but the few models it has released so far have certainly been decent enough, and its just-announced R410 model looks to be no exception. This one squeezes right into the middle of the pack with a 14.1-inch, 1,280 x 800 display, which gets backed up by "Intel's latest 45nm Penryn CPUs," ATI Radeon Xpress 1250M graphics, a DVD burner, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, built-in WiFi and Bluetooth, and a welcome ExpressCard slot. All of that comes in an expectedly glossy package that weighs in at just over five pounds, and boasts a starting price of £499 (or about $1,000). Look for it to hit Europe in May, with no word of a release 'round these parts just yet.

Yawn.
Anyone else notice the striking similarities to the Eee PC?
What...you mean the folding form-factor with screen on one half and keys on the other? Yeah...that's very similar to the Eee PC.
In contrast, it has a 14" screen, internal optical drive, and UWXGA display...all stuff the Eee only wishes it had. Oh, and it costs nearly 3X as much.
I'm talking about the physical design you douche, not the fact it has a folding screen with a keyboard (like EVERY laptop out there).
Look at the headphone/audio plugs, look at the network connector, look at the beveled front with what looks like indicator lights on the left side, look at the SD card reader.
It looks like someone took the Eee design, increased it's size, and added more features.
I'm sorry to burst your bubble but their are hundreds of other laptops with the same features, beveled front, indicator lights and sd readers. In fact the last 3 laptops I've owned have had all three of these features.
I have an Eee and looking at it now I can tell you, the card reader and vga port are on opposite side, the indicator lights are on right not the left, and the power socket is on the back.
Ok, a couple things that you'll find on any laptop are in similar places... other than that? Seems like a pretty generic design to me.
errmmmm, no.
Oh wait it's a Laptop! Asus will surely be sending out the lawyers on this one.
499 Euros is $765 dollars! I don't like to correct people but that is not even close to $1,000
i expected sexier from you samsung.... for shame.
But does anybody knows when exactly are they going to release oit in Europe?
I think I'm interested in buy it.
What do you think about that??
