We just got to spend a smidgen of quality time with Samsung's new boringdaps:
the S2 and S3. Gone are the pretensions of Bluetooth grandeur of the
P2, these two players are about as straightforward as it gets. Samsung's targeting the fashionistas in the crowd, and while the S3 might be a bit larger than they were hoping for in a 4GB player, the S2 "pebble" has kind of a fun feel to it -- though some sort of clip-on apparatus would be appreciated.

Why no clip on that small pebble-esque one?
That seems totally illogical.
I guess maybe there will be cases for it with clips. Whatev.

Unless its Apple, then it just doesn't do for the crowd. This player is pretty darn interesting:

WinCE FTW! Lol.

What? No bluetooth functionality? That's the only good thing about these Samsung players - the T9 had it and it was a pretty good looking player. Nothing to switch my iPod over though. "Fashionably looking" .mp3 players hahaha right!

Stand alone music players are dull, phone the future!

Do they support MSC (e.g. work as a standard USB storage device) or are only MTP as the T10 and the P2?. I like samsung players but supporting only MTP is a terrible mistake. I guess they're on the bed with our beloved monopolist OS maker.

What happened to Samsung claiming that they'd be the ones to dethrone Apple for the top-selling PMP in the world?
Is that still going to happen?
Mark @ Apr 23rd 2008 2:24PM
hmm.. samsung must not be reverse engineering as good as they used to.
MMaster23 @ Apr 23rd 2008 2:33PM
Ugh .. that thing is fat! My Samsung K3 is barely 7mm and does the same... why is this thing so "cool"?
and the peble is just fugly
freediverdude @ Apr 23rd 2008 2:43PM
That S3 looks awfully big and thick to be just a PMP.....and those touch buttons aren't really obvious as to their functions.

they need to get w the program and release a 32gb player w a soundchip as good as a creative player!!
