TomTom RIDER 2nd Edition gets updated with new features
With prime motorcycling weather nearly here, TomTom has prepped an update to bring a handful of new features to its RIDER 2nd Edition. Aside from including Map Share technology and the "Help Me" menu, the enhanced 2nd Edition GPS will also provide a latest map guarantee, trip statistics and itinerary planning. Reportedly, the upgraded unit will go on sale early next month for £349.99 ($691) / £399.99 ($790) depending on whether you're picking up UK / Ireland maps or all of Europe, but existing 1st Edition / 2nd Edition owners can snag the update gratis via TomTom HOME. No word on a North American release just yet.

Having a screen on a motorcycle is still really spooky to me...
Audio directions in the headset is a nice touch.

Sorry, I don't think that the Cardo ScalaRider in included with the TomTom.
I use the Scala, it's great, works with my Tilt perfectly. As to the TomTom Rider series, I'd sooner suggest the Magellan Crossover, it's half the price and is also water-proo... Ah, water-resistant. It can be unnerving to hear a loud and clear voice inside your helmet when you're not expecting it, so I just turn the volume up on the Xover and I still hear it very well at highway speeds.

I'm positive it doesn't come with it...
But they say (almost) any head set should work especially a helmet friendly one. It does spook me out to have more things to look at so listening is a relief

Or you could just turn the volume down on the TomTom...
